GEIST THE DYSTOPIAN SELF #.03 AUTUMN WINTER 2015-16

ORDER IS RAPIDLY FADING TO.

As humans we inhabit a threatening world. As a result of our constant need for unobtainable improvement and self inflicted editing we will soon become emotionally, physically and mentally affected. We will become discouraged when our goals are deemed unachievable due to our decreased attention spans. As our behaviours and mannerisms collide, what remains of our nonplussed identities will be distorted and eliminated. The clash will create disruption and as a consequence an indistinct

tribe who are unconscious to reality will be trapped within a sporadic sequence. Eliminating the possibility of editing or improving the online and offline identities we were accustomed to. Without revolt against the twenty-first century’s sharded and optimised offerings and a distinct reconnection to our emotion, as humans we will be replaced completely and are destined to become surplus to requirement.

SPORADIC SEQUENCES

CAN WE AFFORD OUR FUTURE?

Imagine, if you can, a sparse panorama, incessant in its rhythm, like an unnerving ditty pinned in a persistent loop. It is bleached of natural light, and yet, it is sparsely filled with a gentle comforting glow.

A melodious cue of indulgence, spurring the timid few to blur necessity and nonconformity. There are no hedonistic power trips, and yet, the impulse of betterment still unconsciously peruses. A restrictive mindset, if it wasn’t for the blank faces.

There are no fractures to oxygenate the fanciful vicinity, yet the air appears unconsumed. There are no time constraints, and yet, the desired commodity remains just that, a tumultuous and problematic march that manifested the yearning for enhancement and correction.

Imagine, if you can, a future that feels smaller, a future where prolonged unity brands our cross-generational time frames null and void. A future where conformity is the only freedom, and yet, individuals battle against abstract challenges. Committed to the unachievable task of changing their world.

A cluster of strayed souls, continuously seeking what has become to be illusive in transit ARE situated by your side. Swaddled in visible confusion, it is to them that this un-editable regime belongs.

There is no originality, no impression, no optimisation or refinement. Just a frustrated ordinary outlook, for the next and the now.

Imagine, if you can, jumping from body to body, yearning for the selfsame memories, thoughts and personalities as before. A lackluster endeavour, set out perfectly for failure. There are no unprocessed mindsets, and yet, conversations hold sporadic silences, glitches of human error encoded in humanities performed pace.

Imagine, if you can, a sparse panorama, incessant in its rhythm, like an unnerving ditty pinned in a persistent loop. It is bleached of natural light, and yet, it is sparsely filled with a gentle comforting glow.

NONSENSICAL PANORAMAS

“IF I HAD A WORLD OF MY OWN, EVERYTHING WOULD BE NONSENSE. NOTHING WOULD BE WHAT IT IS, BECAUSE EVERYTHING WOULD BE WHAT IT ISN’T. AND CONTRARY WISE, WHAT IT IS, IT WOULDN’T BE. AND WHAT IT WOULDN’T BE, IT WOULD. YOU SEE?” ‘Through the Looking Glass’ Lewis Carroll
