What are the most popular beauty treatments among women in this period of the year?

At any period of the year, and specially before spring, facial rejuvenation procedures in combination with facial beautification are the most requested treatments. These include mainly, Botox® injections to soften expression lines, Hyaluronic-acid fillers for facial volume-loss restoration and reshaping, and Skinboosters® to rejuvenate and hydrate deeply the skin. Besides, lifting-threads are very popular for enhancing and contouring the face, to pull up the skin and stimulate collagen production into dermis. Next in demand are buttocks augmentation and cellulite reduction.

Does starting with small adjustments at a young age imply the beginning of an addiction to aesthetic medicine?

Various studies show the benefit of preventive aesthetic treatments on young skin and how they delay the onset of premature signs of skin aging. We call it Prejuvenation, one of the trends is younger people looking to maintain their looks and youthful appearance seeking to prevent wrinkles, sun spots as well as sagging skin. Non-invasive and minimally-invasive procedures are and will become more and more preponderant and popular, such as threads lifting and buttocks augmentation, because they are performed under local anesthesia, without surgery nor downtime. Facial Beautification will also be widely required, meaning facial beauty enhancement by subtle volume restoration in specific areas such as jawlines, cheekbones, lips and chin, in order to create a «photogenic» look. The main goal is to enhance the visual perception of beauty, and those are the top trending topics in aesthetic field.

Is the strong growth of cosmetic surgery due to the fact that it is now a luxury within everyone’s reach, economically accessible?

The economic aspect is of course one of the several reasons to explain the rise of cosmetic procedures, but it’s not the major factor. Indeed, since 2020 there has been a pandemic boom in aesthetic medicine and surgery, probably due to more recovery time for patients, but the «ZOOM effect» is a major contributing factor in changing behaviors, with a huge increase in the time we spend staring our faces on a screen over the past years. Millennials explain the increase of aesthetic procedures. But also because it’s no longer a taboo subject to have lips or boobs done, mentalities have evolved like in any other field which was hidden or secret 20 years ago. Another main explanation is the free communication of medical information, specially thanks to social media as Instagram and FaceBook, with greater transparency, which was not really allowed 25 years ago.

How much do aesthetic improvements in patients affect the psychological aspect?

People just desire to feel confident. We all know the psychological impact that an aesthetic disgrace can have on a young woman or a young man. Likewise, correcting an unsightly defect and beautification has a very positive effect on one’s self-esteem, moral and social well-being. We cannot underestimate the psychological benefits of aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery on the quality of life of our patients, we see it every day, the testimonies of our patients are the best proof of its assets. We live in a society where image and seduction hold a very important place in work, social life and in one word, success. Aesthetic medicine can help people who feel inhibited and inferior, with complexes about their body or faces, and contribute to improve their daily life.

Speaking of male treatments, a strong evolution in the upper hand, what do you think about it?

Indeed, there is a significant rise of male patients in our offices. This is due to the fact that nowadays men are just as likely as women to be concerned about their appearance; they desire to look youthful and to feel confident. It’s no longer taboo for men to have some lunch-time Botox® to soften their severe and tired look, or Skinboosters® injections to get a fresh skin. The desire for seduction and to please others is timeless and has no gender.

What are the most requested male aesthetic interventions?

Botox® is the most common procedure among men of course, because it helps to soften men faces and lessen expression lines such as frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles.
