Guest Hub

Guest Hub Lobby SketchUp and Photoshop

For the competition, the judges asked designers to create an new Icelandic resort that included a Guest Hub and movable Guest Homes - as well as planning for a Host Home, Barn, Spa. Take The location for the proposed resort, resides in a secluded area along Lake Myvatn. It was important to me, to include spaces that would allow travelers access and freedom to complete necessary or leisure activities at any time of the day.

Concept View, Freedom, and Convince Turn the axis of a typical square building so that its corners point the way to other areas on the resort grounds. Goal Create a modern and cozy environment, that welcomed the weariest of travelers to the typical sight seers. The extensive amount of glazing allows for optimal views - of the sky or the landscape whenever possible.

Guest Houses For the competition, the judges asked designers to create an new Icelandic resort that included a Guest Hub and movable Guest Homes - as well as planning for a Host Home, Barn, Spa. Take As a requirement, in an effort to make the guests homes mobile - my proposed approach allowed for mobility and easier transport. Retractable walls and Murphy style furniture allowed the guest home to turn into a 15ft. by 15ft. square into a 15ft. by 30ft. home in a matter of seconds.

Guest Home Communal Space SketchUp and Photoshop

Concept Reflectiveness, Freedom, and Retract-ability. Goal Design a versatile guest home that gives the traveler optimal views of the sky and landscape, and a cozy and unique Icelandic experience. For the competition, I proposed an entire custom home that included: entire home engineering and custom built furniture that could be used within the desired space.

Next, the movable walls that contain the custom built furniture also slide into their resting positions - allowing the Murphy style furniture to flip down.

The third step, in the retraction process, allows the solid and insulated walls of the guest home to fully retract into their resting positions.

Lastly , glass panel walls slide out of the solid black walls to complete the retraction process. The pentagon form was created to mimic that of native Icelandic Turf Homes.

Concept The workplace is a maze of activity and working people - but in the end, all mazes have a core or center. Goal Create a collaborative and innovative workplace that highlights upon paths, vistas, and designated spaces. Incorporate a core working zone into the plan that allows the rest of the studios and offices to work around it.

03 Middle School Renovations Spring 2017

Professional

Design Objective: Use Photoshop skills to render realistic views of proposed materials and ideas.

19

Redo Within the District In collaboration with a lead designer, I was asked to help render a handful of realistic views for a client - who’s school district was redoing two of their middle schools. Take With guidance from the lead designer, we planned a material scheme that incorporated their district’s colors with modern comfort touches. Completion During this project I was tasked with Photoshopping in material, textures, and colors on top of Revit drawings and photographs. A challenge I found with this project-and with the photographs, was that the lines were not as clean or straight as the drawings pulled from Revit. Which ultimately made it very difficult to just “overlay” material on top of the photograph renderings.

All snapshots were pulled from Revit, where they were designed and created by Moody Nolan Architects and Interior Designers.

Take With the guidance of the lead designer, we planned and arranged store components that would match predetermined sale and non-sale criteria. Completion Being that this was my first official store design project at Lbrands, I had a lot of help from the other lead designers in my department. The final concept was presented to our lead of our department and my plan was sent off for SD submittal and completion.

All floor plans were pulled from AutoCAD, where the furniture and the specifics were provided by Lbrands Architects and Interior Designers.

05 Store Sign Studies Summer 2018

Professional

Design Objective: Use Photoshop skills to render realistic views of proposed neon signs.

27

Exploration in Neon In collaboration with a lead designer, I was asked to help render a handful of realistic signs for a client. The lead designer wanted to utilize the existing neon branding package that PINK had but also explore new options with neon. Take Although the designers gave me examples, I researched more ways to complete the desired affects. Completion With the lead designer’s guidance, we experimented with colors, neons, backing, and suspension of the newly proposed signs.

07 Patio Re-Design Spring 2017

Personal

Design Objective: Combine, propose, and present new backyard-patio concepts for the client.

35

Ditch Old for New The client for this project, felt that their backyard patio was no longer adequate enough for the “parties and activities that took place in their space. I offered up my skills to help bring their conceptual wants to life.

Previous Patio View 01 Image from Client

Take At times there can be 15+ people in or around the patio - extra seating, touch points, and TV views were important characteristics for the client. With their guidance, we worked out the components to fulfill their backyard wishes. Concept Reflect the Rustic Farm House interior of the home Goal Generate and create ideas for the client, that they could use or adapt into finalized plans and concepts.
