Line- A mark made by a tool assist is drawn across a surface

4

When I was working on this piece I worked with the pen tool and the blend tool. It consisted of a pen drawn “X and blending the sides together. Then I took it and arranged it in a way so that it would be pleasing to the eye.

S h a p e Shape- The general outline of something In these pictures I used expanded Shapes to take what was inside the shape and flip it outside so you could see an image. “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. (Confucius)

Tesselolation-A tessellation of a flat surface is the tiling of a plane using one or more geometric shapes, called tiles, with no overlaps and no gaps. In this project I made a design and translated it throughout the page to make a pattern.

C o l o r Color-A quality that you see when you look at something I loved starting to use color in my projects. Color gives another dimension to all there is. “Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment. (Claude Monet)

M a n d a l a Mandala-A symbolic pattern bearing a multiple projection of an image

8

When I started my mandalas I found a shape that looked good and I rotated it around the center to that you would get a cool pattern. Many of the projects ended up looking like flowers but they were patterns none the less.

Character- To make or give a comically or grotesquely exaggerated representation

In this project I used the pen tool to create a character of an evil apple. This was really fun for me because I was able to let the monsters out of my head and on to the workspace. I also used the pen tool to create a background, which consisted of buildings.

Logo- A unique identifying symbol: it is also called a brand mark, mark, indentifier, logotype, or trademark. I decided to use a little bit of figure ground reversal to show the “S” and also to show the “J”.I also decided to use my favorite color red and white to contrast against it. I like the simple design where it can get to the point.

E s s a y Photo Essay- An essay or short article consisting of text and numerous photographs.

In this project I took different images that really said Beverly Hills to me like the arch on Santa Monica and I also took an image of city hall. With these landmarks from the past still here I thought I should use them in the photo essay.

Collage- Collage is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms.

In this project I took some of my favorite pictures I had and then I categorized them in rows by living things, landscapes, and food. I then took a texture and put it in the background and then put in a quote by Bob Marley that fit

Self Portrait- A portrait of an artist produced or created by that artist. In this project I started out by creating a brush. Then I found a picture that I really liked from my photo album. Then I took the color from the original picture and then I drew over it.
