BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Dear Neighbors,

We are thrilled to be able to send out a combined Spring and Summer program guide filled with lots of new classes and events for kids, adults and even your furry friends.

Enjoy an entire summer of fun at the Deerfield Park District Pools! Pool passes go on sale in March and include lap swim and public swim at both Deerspring and Mitchell Pools as well as the new Spraygound at Deerspring Pool! And if you have something to celebrate this summer, why not celebrate at the pool? Pool party rental reservations begin on March 7 for residents and April 4 for non-residents. Turn to pages 6-9 to see pool pass and party options and reservation details.

Another outdoor rental venue option is a park pavilion, perfect for a family get together or birthday party with the bonus of having an adjacent playground that provides endless fun for the kids! You might want to check out Maplewood Park as an option since it now has a permanent community grill near the shelter thanks to Eagle Scout Jacob Smith. Reservations for pavilions begin March 1 for residents and April 3 for non-residents. Browse the options and amenities available at each park on page 10 of this guide.

We have many new special events including Paws in the Park: Eggsplosion, a perfect way to celebrate Spring at Jaycee Park as you and your furry friend hunt for eggs in the park. Or if sports are your thing, join us on May 21 to show off your knucklers, fastball and curveball at our Adult Wiffle Ball Tournament. For our many music lovers, we are bringing back the Summer Concerts on Sundays, Eat to the Beat for kids on Wednesdays in July and a variety of artists at the Patty Turner Center including the very popular North Shore Line playing at Elmstock. Check out all the dates and details on pages 14-21 in the special events and concert section.

After surveying the current membership and the hundreds of new members, Patty Turner Center is adding more evening programs for adults. From fitness, art, concerts and games to historical and current event education, there is so much to enjoy. Stop by for a tour or call 847-940-4010 to learn more about our home away from home.

At Deerfield Golf Club, join us for golf and stay to dine on our new outdoor deck with a pavilion. We have group and individual lessons for ages four through adult. And for our more experienced players, consider joining a golf league. Spring, summer and fall options and class dates are available now on pages 44-47 so that you can plan now for your full golf season on the course!
