Camp Arnes offers an excellent facility for band or choir camp. Thirteen convenient sectional spaces, music equipment, and the opportunity to enjoy great activities between sessions make it a hit with students and directors alike!
Outdoor Education
It’s here where students learn skills like fire and shelter building, how to shoot a bow, and the value of working together. Fun and learning are so interwoven that students can’t tell where one begins and the other ends!
Autumn
Fall at Camp Arnes is a great way to start out the school year. Your students will enjoy the beauty of changing leaves as they fly through the air on the Giant Swing, ride down the Zipline, and work together to finish the Initiatives Task Course.
Winter
Enjoy Manitoba’s winter wonderland with outdoor activities like snowshoeing, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing. Once all the fun is done for the day, spend some time in front of our cozy fireplaces warming up with a mug of hot chocolate!
Spring
Sunny days and crisp air are the perfect environment to wrap up the school year. Climb up on our High Ropes Course, try for a bullseye at Archery, or enjoy the peaceful sound of bird calls as you walk one of our nature paths.

Our experience has shown that every successful student tour must be educational, economically priced, and exciting!
Educational travel is an important aspect of learning as schools prepare students to compete in a more complex world. Travel brings curriculum alive for many students who learn best when experiencing concepts their teachers present, and can motivate students to apply themselves in the classroom. Additionally, travel teaches young people communication skills which will help them succeed as adults in a global society.

Students get hands-on learning at the Farm and Food Discovery Centre
Located 15 minutes south of Winnipeg on Highway 75, the Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre offers an interactive and educational environment to explore modern farming and food production.
From the moment students walk through the doors, they’ll be greeted by sights and sounds of agriculture all around them. Colourful exhibits take them through a farmer’s field, from planting to harvest, allowing them to learn about the many factors that influence crop production, from soil to climate.
Students can explore livestock production practices through the viewing windows into the hog, dairy and egg layer barns. In the dairy facility featuring robotic milkers, students learn about milk production and follow the steps milk takes to get to the store. In the egg layer barn, they will see how
egg farmers care for their hens and watch how the eggs are packed before heading to market. Food processing, food safety, and human nutrition are highlighted in the demonstration kitchen where students prepare foods to bring the food production journey full circle.
Educators can select from eight curriculum-focused programs, including the popular Farm to Fork, Life in a Handful of Soil, and Discovering Dairy. All activities connect curricular themes found in social studies, science, geography, health, and nutrition to the food we eat.
Open Tuesday-Saturday - 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (February to mid-December).
Contact 204-883-2524 or visit www.ffdc.ca for admission costs and more information.
Come explore the Farm and Food Discovery Centre!
Where does our food come from? How do we take care of the environment and the animals? What is the connection between nutrition and health? Through our curriculum-based, hands- on workshops, your students will explore the science behind how food is made, learn about sustainable agricultural practices, and turn locally produced, nutritious ingredients into tasty treats in the kitchen.
