WELCOME TO THE ITT CONFERENCE I speak on behalf of the ITT Board when I say I am delighted to be working with the Croatian National Tourist Board and Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board to stage this year’s ITT Conference in Split. For those of you who have never visited this part of the world, you are in for a treat. Split is a destination that encapsulates the perfect combination of old and new, mixing honeycombs of monuments and medieval passageways with lively bars and scenic views. You’ll find many world-famous landmarks here such as the Cathedral of St Domnius, Klis Fortress and Diocletian’s Palace, alongside cultural attractions like the Meštrovic Gallery. Overlooking the Dalmatian coast and just a stone’s throw away from Split, our Conference hotel – Le Méridien Lav, Split Resort – is located just 20km from Split Airport. With its own private beach, high-end spa, array of restaurants and unparalleled facilities, this seafront gem is the ideal location for us to stay and has proven to be a popular choice with our Members. This year’s conference sessions are based around the theme ‘The Opportunities of Change’, and will address the new initiatives that are arising in our industry. We’ll hear from travel industry figures and guest speakers who will offer their expertise and advice. Once again the Conference will be moderated by the one and only Tim Hames. A big thank you to our Headline Sponsors and Destination Hosts. Finally, thank you to our Members for your continued support – I wish you a truly memorable Conference. Dr Steven Freudmann F.Inst.TT. Chairman Institute of Travel & tourism
Dear colleagues and participants of the ITT Conference, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Split and the beautiful country of Croatia. In recent years, Croatia has become a well-known tourist destination on a global level and the ITT Conference is an event attesting to this.
We are very thankful you chose Croatia to host the Conference and we look forward to what I believe will be a very successful event.
The key to Split’s increasing popularity is the diversity of the offer it provides to all its guests. Here you can find a treasury of history and world cultural heritage and monuments of UNESCO, as well as preserved nature, clean seas and fantastic gastronomy and entertainment. But above all, you will find gracious and friendly locals who will warmly welcome you. I hope your stay and work in our county will be pleasant and interesting. Joško Stella Director Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board
Kristjan Staničić, M. Sc. Director Croatian National Tourist Board

We are delighted to support the ITT Conference, which will provide an abundance of high-quality information exchange, ideas and also networking opportunities. We have many business partners among ITT Members because the UK market is very important for Croatian tourism.
Welcome to Split-Dalmatia County, the largest tourist region in Croatia at the heart of the Adriatic coast.

CONFERENCE THEME There is no doubt that the current economic and political climate is highly unpredictable as wider issues such as Brexit force the travel and tourism industry to face unprecedented strategic and operational challenges. Whilst the natural reaction may be to fear the unknown, it is paramount that travel businesses are always ready to adapt to change and embrace new opportunities. With The Opportunities of Change as its theme, the conference speakers will provide their own perspectives on the opportunities that changes ranging from Brexit to new technologies and ever-evolving consumer behaviours will bring to the travel and tourism sector.

With a network across 70 countries, MSC Cruises’ holidays are sold across the world sailing year-round through the heart of the Mediterranean and Caribbean, with seasonal itineraries exploring northern Europe, South America, southern Africa, China, India and the United Arab Emirates. Each itinerary is designed to incorporate iconic destinations, mesmerising heritage sights and unforgettable attractions, connecting MSC Cruise’s passengers to the world’s best places. 2019 has seen the inauguration of MSC Belllissima in Southampton, the cruise line’s largest ship to date, which will be followed by MSC Grandiosa in November, a result of the company’s unprecedented 800% growth since 2004.
So here’s to the last 100 years, but more importantly here’s to the next 100 years. There’s never been a more exciting time to fly British Airways.
As the world’s largest privately-owned cruise line, MSC Cruises has established itself as the market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa. The Swiss based Company has implemented a £12 billion investment plan to expand its fleet to 29 ships by 2027.

For the first time, ITT’s prestigious President’s Dinner will take place at the glamorous Savoy Hotel. This treasured London establishment has survived two world wars; featured in films such as Notting Hill and Entrapment, and has been the source of creative inspiration for work by the likes of Michael Morpurgo and Claude Monet. Movie stars, politicians and members of the Royal Family have graced its foyer over the years and now the hotel is opening its doors to you, ITT’s Members, for an unforgettable evening of celebration.
The event includes a sparkling drinks reception; three-course meal; entertainment; announcement of the destination for ITT’s 2020 Conference, and the presentation of the highly esteemed Odyssey Award. This year’s recipient is Julia Kemp, Avis Budget Group’s Director of Global Travel and Partnerships. Always a sell-out event, we recommend that you book early to get the best seats. The event is open to anyone in travel, with Members benefiting from a 30% discount.

ALDER HEY CHILDREN’S CHARITY On behalf of all our young patients, families and staff at Alder Hey, thank you to ITT, and to you, the Members, for your generous support. Last year we launched the Room with a View Challenge, which asked Members of ITT to help us raise funds to transform our treatment rooms through the installation of digital immersive projection. Making the rooms more welcoming for our young patients and to distract them during medical procedures is a priority. Your support has been amazing and we still have so much more to do.

Alder Hey sees 275,000 children and young people every year, and there are treatment rooms that you can still help to transform! It’s not too late to join the Room with a View Challenge so please speak to one of the team during the Conference. Join us. Join in. ITT is very much part of the Alder Hey family, and as a thank you for all that you do for us we’re delighted, thanks to the generosity of A-Rosa, to once again be able to provide the entertainment at the Gala Dinner. We hope you enjoy this very special entertainment in such an amazing location.
