NEW IN 2019!
Comfortable & convenient on-campus living Delaware State University offers residential options for new, returning and transfer students that make living on campus feel like home. Most of our residence hall rooms are double occupancy, with select halls providing suite-style accommodations. Our facilities offer a blend of living and learning spaces, along with a wide variety of amenities. Students living on campus also have an abundance of dining choices, from the Village Cafe and Conrad Hall to Chick-fil-A, Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts and more.
TUBMAN LAWS HALL UPPERCLASSMAN & FRESHMAN | CO-ED | 620 STUDENTS
The newest facility in Delaware State University’s residential portfolio provides students with a top-notch living and learning experience. The 200,000-square-foot Tubman Laws Hall opened for the start of the fall 2019 semester. The facility features the most contemporary design in residential living and learning on college campuses, with fully furnished semi-suite and suite-style units, Dunkin’ Donuts, a cafe, a game room, lounges and more.
FRESHMAN LIVING MEDGAR W. EVERS HALL FRESHMAN | CO-ED | 243 STUDENTS
Evers Hall was erected in 1968 and was named in memory of Medgar W. Evers, who opened the first National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1955. His work encouraged and helped African Americans to vote. Amenities: A kitchen, classroom, laundry room, recreation area, barbershop, vending area and second and third floor study lounges.
META V. JENKINS HALL FRESHMAN | CO-ED | 243 STUDENTS
Jenkins Hall was erected in 1970 and dedicated during the 91st anniversary of Founders Day, February 7, 1982. The residence hall was named in honor of Meta V. Jenkins, who graduated from the State College for Colored Students (now Delaware State University) in June 1921 and was one of the founding organizers of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Delaware State University Alumni Association. Amenities: A kitchen, classroom, laundry room and recreation area.
WARREN-FRANKLIN HALL FRESHMAN | CO-ED | 328 STUDENTS
Erected in 1992, Warren-Franklin Hall was dedicated in memory of two staff members in 1996. Miss Warren, employed by the University from 1944-1969, served as dean and assistant dean of women in Tubman Hall. Mr. Franklin, employed from 1953-1978, served as the director of Men’s Activities, director of Student Personnel, track coach and registrar. Amenities: Suite-style facility with a main lounge, kitchen, laundry room and vending areas. W. RICHARD WYNDER TOWER FRESHMAN | CO-ED | 86 HONORS STUDENTS
Erected in 1985, Wynder Tower was named in honor of Richard Wynder, who graduated from Delaware State University and was the first alumnus to receive a doctoral degree. He held many positions at the institution, the last being vice president and dean of Student Affairs. Amenities: Suite-style facility with common areas in each suite and a community kitchen.
RETURNING STUDENT LIVING LIVING & LEARNING COMMONS UPPERCLASSMAN | CO-ED
This multi-use facility, formerly a hotel, includes student housing and the University’s Early College High School. The Commons is a short walk to our main campus, and shuttle buses also run every 20 minutes to and from campus. Amenities: Spacious hotel-size double rooms are supplied on six floors with a front desk area, lobby, study rooms on several floors and a laundry room.
UNIVERSITY COURTYARD UPPERCLASSMAN | CO-ED | 144 UNITS & 416 BEDS
University Courtyard is located on 13 acres of land within a short walking distance of our main campus and features seven three-story buildings. Amenities: Each furnished apartment unit is 2 or 4 bedroom and has a full kitchen, as well as convenient living and dining areas. The complex is served by a separate office building that features a common area as well as the office for the complex.
UNIVERSITY VILLAGE UPPERCLASSMAN | CO-ED | 300 UNITS & 582 BEDS
Located on 25 acres, University Village features three four-story residential buildings with apartments in 1BR/1 BA, 2BR/2BA, and 4BR/2BA configurations. Amenities: Apartments are fully furnished with extra-long twin beds or full-size beds depending on the style and common areas. Some styles have kitchens, while suite-style units are equipped with a kitchenette in lieu of a full kitchen.
