Ruth Stubens leads a Taoist Tai Chi class for beginners at the recently-renovated Ladner United Church. The weekly Wednesday morning class is said to exercise the whole body and calm the mind.
They’ll be running to keep Terry’s dream alive this Sunday in Tsawwassen. The Rotary Club of Tsawwassen hosts the annual Terry Fox Run, which is set to depart from Rotary Square at the Town Centre Mall at 10 a.m. The event offers fivekilometre and 10-kilometre route options that are also suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs are welcome on leashes as well. The 10-kilometre route has been changed for this year with more of it going through Boundary Bay Regional Park. The majority of that technical work is expected to be completed by the end of this year, but an extension was needed to complete the legal end of things, which can be more efficiently undertaken once all the technical drawings, survey plans and studies are finalized. Century Group president Sean Hodgins told the Optimist the engineering design has taken

longer than anticipated and they only started design work after the regional district’s approval last year. “It made sense to delay it but I don’t think it really — in practical terms — delays us much as I don’t think we would have started work until next summer anyway,” he explained.
