Oscar the Asian small-clawed otter lives happily with his family near a river. They all love each other and take care of each other.
The river gives Oscar and his family everything they’ll ever need.
One day Oscar dives into the water. His brothers and sisters dive in too and start racing down the river.
All of a sudden Oscar’s tummy starts to rumble. He really wants to catch a fish, but he’s not fast enough because he’s just a pup.
Oscar heads back and suddenly smells a very yummy smell. He drifts away from his family to head towards the smell.
The yummy smell is a fish. Oscar rushes over and grabs the fish.
BAM! A cage shuts! Oscar has been tricked into a trap.
Oscar is afraid and he wants to get out.
He cries for his family to help but there’s no answer. They are too far away.
All Oscar can do is reach his paws out of the cage. He’ll never see his family ever again.
