A new vision horizon...
It’s time to combat the doom and gloom! Life has been incredibly hard for all the past few years, but finally there seems to be more positivity, optimism and gratitude for life as it is. A sense of normality has returned, and we have grasped it with both hands!
With travel taken off pause, loved ones have been jetting off to far-flung corners of the earth to experience handfuls of rich culture, adventure and entertainment once again. It’s an aspect of our lives which many of us missed, and now it’s our reality to enjoy again! Of course, there are always obstacles to face when it comes to getting back into the swing of things, but it seems we are less prepared to dwell on these somewhat minor aspects now, after all that has played out across the globe in recent years.
The film and theatre industry has risen from its knees and is back to entertaining and playing out stories for us all to unwind to after a long day or heavy working week. A stark contrast to the time when we were all confined to our houses for months at a time.
Live music is another joy which has

returned with abundance! With festivals, shows and stadium tours now back and bigger than ever! It feels good to be enjoying each other’s company again and soaking up the atmosphere of all that is around us.
One hot ticket this summer was for Coldplay and their Music of The Spheres World Tour. I was lucky enough to bag a golden ticket to one of their London shows, and I must say they didn’t disappoint! The band that all ages has grown to know and love
fresh eye Envisage
created an experience we could all only dream off a short time ago.
The evening in a nutshell was one of pure joy, wholesomeness and somewhat disbelief - a stadium full of 75,000 people engulfed in celebration; It was a ‘had to be there’ moment.
The whole arena was lit with glowing multicolored wristbands amongst the backdrop of a mid-summers’ sunset, surrounded by thousands of people consumed by Coldplay’s most loved songs, which echoed around the jumping stadium – it was an epic moment of pure happiness and realization of what we’d all been missing.
It’s been a summer of resetting our wellbeing in any which way we feel important to us. Whether that be at a concert, the theatre, spending time with the people we love or alone, travelling, celebrating or just appreciating the small things. It’s a somewhat refreshing perspective to have. Even with so many things continuously interrupting our attention and day to day lives, a new vision has been formed from all we have lost and learnt throughout a very turbulent period of time, and now it’s ours for the taking!

“Part of being optimistic is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward.”Nelson Mandela
It is said that once the Queen is off the chessboard, the whole game changes. In many ways, 2022 is marking a time that represents huge flux. The turning of recent events is causing a global impact that is unprecedented. Namely the Covid pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On 8/9/22 Queen Elizabeth 11 died aged 96. Some of her public engagements this year were noted by her absence due to frailty.
The Remembrance Sunday service and Her 70th Jubilee Concert were two missed occasions that highlighted the Queen’s waning health. Her Majesty, has without question been a pillar of strength and a symbol of unity for the UK and the Commonwealth. Her unswerving dedication and application to service for 70 years is without question her undying legacy. A legacy that is held deeply in the hearts of nations. So much so that this September month is a landmark for national and international mourning.
Triumphant
The Queen’s legacy is noted for a steely and impassioned dedication to service. Noted also for her Balmoral greeting and transition of power to new Conservative Party Leader Liz Truss only 48 hours before death. “One of the greatest leaders the world has known,” said Liz Truss.
During her 70-year reign, the Queen is noted for her occasions of misjudgment being rare. Shut away in Balmoral after the death of Princess Diana, it is said that she failed to feel the raw emotion of the public mood. She subsequently addressed the nation to express her heartfelt empathy.
Articulation
A dignified, dependable figure who reigned longer than any other British Monarch, Elizabeth helped steer the institution into the modern world, stripping away court ritual and making it somewhat more open and accessible. Elizabeth will be remembered as a force for national cohesion.
“Good memories are our second chance at happiness.”
Fashion note: The Queen’s fashion sense always made headlines, and she was well known for her colourful wardrobe. She often stood out from the crowd in her bright-coloured suits and dresses, with matching hats, and was always with her staple black shoes and bags.
A first: Queen Elizabeth II became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee in 2022, marking 70 years of service since she first acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952.
From the Queen’s 1957 first Christmas Broadcast.
“It has always been easy to hate and destroy. To build and to cherish is much more difficult.”
Act of service: Her Majesty, who died on Thursday 8 September 2022 at the age of 96, was the longest-serving British monarch ever. She broke the record set by her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria, who was on the throne for almost 64 years.
Normality: In 1989, the Queen was quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: “Like all the best families, we have our share of eccentricities, of impetuous and wayward youngsters, and of family disagreements.”
From the Queen’s 1966 Christmas Broadcast.
“It is difficult to realise that it was less than 50 years ago that women in Britain were first given the vote, but Parliament was first asked to grant this 100 years ago.”
Empathy: In the aftermath of 9/11, the Queen issued a heartfelt message to be read by the former British ambassador to Washington, Sir Christopher Meyer, at a prayer service in St Thomas church, New York. She spoke of the “resilience and determination” of the people of New York, who were grieving the tragic losses of nearly 3,000 lives when the attack on the World Trade Centre took place.
But her closing words were especially powerful in conveying the pain felt by the city: “Grief is the price we pay for love.”
From the Queen’s 2008 Christmas Broadcast.
“When life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future.”

New season British fashion,
Just like the products of basketry that the backdrop referred to, this Emporio collection was fashioned of many strands. Within it was woven the highly contemporary against fresh expressions of a canon that is classically Armani. The former included molded rubber basket weave-texture Wave shoes, a midsection sextet of highly technical EA7 looks, and a sleeveless hoodie decorated with a watercolor palm tree and a jute-embroidered declaration of “l’amour.” The result was a collection broad enough to appeal to a wide spectrum of taste that was also consistent with the house identity.

The focus, therefore, is on suiting and and separates with function-like, utilitarian details. An array of blues featured across the entire spectrum of the collection, showing up on everything from sky-toned jackets to lapelled numbers (which pervaded the panoply of propositions on offer). He even takes a much fresher approach on volumes, pairing them with wide-fitting pants.

Pleated trousers caress the figure, while deconstructed blazers reaffirm a cornerstone of Armani style, here in new jacquard models that bring carefree summer scenes to the tailoring, somewhere between gauguin and reggae parties in the shade of lush palm trees.

Chanel Couture
Note: For Chanel’s Artistic Director Virginie Viard, her collections reflect the pragmatic needs and desires of the house’s clients and her own eclectic but never fantastical sources of inspiration.
Chanel 22/23
A/W Couture
Virginie Viard described her latest couture
outing as ‘graphic’ - a favourite word of forebear Karl Lagerfield, the designer notes.
The historic house causes a couture stir for an entirely different reason for its latest collection; an almost-endless display of tantalising tweed, peppered with sequin gowns and diamondadorned necks.
Since Creative Director Virginie Viard took the helm of Chanel following the death of Karl Lagerfeld in 2019, her vision for the fashion house has been one of more laid-back luxury. While Lagerfeld’s shows housed rocket ships, faux beach fronts and entire supermarkets as backdrops to his collections, Viard has been toning down the large-scale stage designs, allowing her unbridled chic to shine, very much in its own right.

The quintessential Chanel couture twin set is updated in spectacular fashion. Skirt hems are elongated and paired with black leather boots, lending an effortless allure; trousers are ballooned at the ankle or calf imbuing an equestrian elegance; and dress coats are reimagined in tactile textures, evoking a ‘Don’t touch what you can’t afford,’ energy. 2022’s Chanel woman is as beautiful as she is bad*ss. Metallic floral prints, intricate beadwork and crystal embellishments bedecked elegant evening gowns. Silhouettes remained delightfully refined, while layers of tulle added volume to some skirts further in this tantilising collection.
Spring Summer new season 2023
Inspired by Christian Dior’s childhood home in Granville, Normandy.
The life and work of British painter Duncan Grant inspired Kim Jones for this collection extending his conversation with Christian Dior; a fascinating journey through space and time, where the arts converge.
The Vibe Gardening, hiking, fishing: whether formal or informal, the looks of the Dior Summer 2023 men’s collection combine elegance and levity in the spirit of sportswear to celebrate nature. The colors – from Dior grays to pinks and pastel shades from greens to blues, bring nature’s luminous, lush gradients to life. Bold tailoring is reinvented through delicate shorts and Bermudas, or completed with a
detachable tonal lapel revisiting iconic suit sleeves.
The emblematic men’s Bar jacket comes in a sheer silk organza version that reveals its virtuoso construction down the path of the thread. Coats continue this bucolic odyssey, completing the show’s silhouettes with equal parts functionality and refinement, as with the large trench coats casually layered over reflective vests.
Duncan Grant’s 1913 Lily Pond Screen adorns technical fabrics as well as traditional embroidery, while the British painter’s sketches were reproduced in precious handmade knits. The resolutely contemporary look underlines the immutable yet everevolving bond between fashion and art.
