THE #1 DIGITAL DENTISTRY EVENT OF 2022

CONFERENCE PROGRAMME www.dentaltechnology.com.au

WELCOME! Welcome to the 3rd Australian Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology conference 2022.

We try to look at the current trends in digital dentistry and ensure that these are well represented at the event and since we first staged the programme in 2018, some trends have continued whereas others have been more fleeting. From a technology perspective, intraoral scanning has steadily taken over and more recently, 3D printing is fast becoming a feature of both clinic and lab to the point where it offers an alternative to milling in some areas. Digital dentures continue to evolve and there will be many interesting presentations throughout the event on how different clinicians, technicians and vendors are approaching this area. And the production of clear aligners is another area also on the cusp of significant change.

This normally annual event was last staged in 2019 and it’s so great to finally be back together again as the COVID-19 pandemic wanes. I thank every one of you who have supported us and particularly those who have held “tickets” literally for years as we tried unsuccessfully to stage this programme amidst the uncertainty of the events space in recent times. Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology is designed to be a unique experience for delegates that combines education with a free exchange of information between clinician and technician and hence, we never considered making it a virtual event.

All in all, I hope Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2022 delivers what you need it to to take your lab or clinic to the next level in your digital dentistry journey.

So now that it’s finally the right time, I hope the 2022 edition of Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology was worth the wait.

So again, thank you one and all to delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors who have come together for this unique event.

Thank you too to the 43 speakers who are presenting over the next two days - several of whom have made the journey from overseas - and thank you to the dental industry that continues to support this event, one of the largest in Australia with over 80 hours of education presented during the next 2 days.

And to everyone who helped in any way, you know you have my thanks and gratitude evermore. In particular, I would like to thank Angus Pryor, Dani Hannelly, Frank Currenti and Michael Sernik who are hosting Streams 1-3 and 5. All are well-known and amazing individuals within the dental community and all have volunteered their valuable time to help Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2022 run as smoothly as possible.

Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2022 this year offers 7 concurrent education streams that cover the length and breadth of the digital dentistry space with every technology and material represented in presentations for clinicians and technicians together as one. For the next two days, we present a veritable smörgåsbord of educational sessions around Digital Dentistry that will allow you to create your own program based on your own needs.

A special thank you also to my wife Valerie and my children, Isabella and Christian, who help whenever possible and never complain about all the time this event takes to organise!

You can move freely from room to room and make your session choices on the fly. All the information you need to plan your experience at the event is included in this Programme and I would recommend that you read it thoroughly before you arrive so that you don’t miss out on what you’re looking for.

And to everyone who registered for the 3rd Australian Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology conference, whether last minute or well before we even had a program together, thank you for participating, thank you for your patience and I hope we deliver an event that meets and exceeds your expectations.

All the presentations throughout Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2022 are designed to give you insights from technicians and clinicians who use the gamut of digital technologies to deliver clinical care on a daily basis, whether directly or in the dental lab. The programme is created with input from many people to endeavour to offer a comprehensive, balanced perspective of the here and now showing every solution available and how best to implement them into your own routine.

Very best regards,

OUR BRANDS

Because of its tooth-like colour, zirconia became increasingly important in dentistry towards the end of the 1990s, where it is often the restoration material of choice thanks to its optical adaptability, stability and range of indications. However, how zirconia is manufactured and tested is important to the end result. As not all zirconia is the same!
