A barbell workout for anyone looking to get toned and fit fast! Build strength using a light to moderate weighted barbell, free weights, and body weight exercises.

Les Mills CORE™

Build strength and stability in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, and assist injury prevention with floor and standing exercises using resistance tubes, weight plates, and bodyweight.

Chair Yoga

A series of gentle seated and standing yoga poses designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. A chair is used for standing support and posture alignment. Close-toed shoes are required for the duration of this mat-free class.

BollyX®

A dance-fitness class that embodies the infectious energy, expression and movement of Bollywood.

Zumba®

Takes the “work” out of workout by mixing low and high-intensity moves for a calorie-burning dancefitness party.

Indoor Cycling

This 45-minute stationary bike workout improves cardiovascular fitness while strengthening and toning your lower body muscles.

Cycle Yoga

Improve cardio endurance, strength, and flexibility with 40 minutes of high energy cardio training on a stationary bike followed by a 20-minute practice of yoga on a mat.

Classically Fit, 50+

A senior fitness workout featuring functional exercises designed to help participants maintain an independent lifestyle. Build strength and improve coordination, balance, agility, and cardio fitness.

SilverSneakers® Classic, 50+

An introductory senior-fitness workout designed to improve muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and mobility. Exercises are performed using handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a small air-filled ball. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. Movements can be adapted to suit various limitations and fitness levels.

Senior Mat Yoga, 50+

A series of mat yoga poses designed specifically for seniors to increase spinal flexibility, balance, core strength, and hip mobility.

AMERICAN LEGION HALL SENIOR CENTER (ALH)

The American Legion Hall serves as a gathering place for adults, age 50 and older, to partake in daily fellowship, monthly socials, seminars, and trips. Activities include sewing, exercise, table games, puzzles, bingo, and more!

Legionnaires Patio

Legionnaires Patio is a beautiful area where patrons can enjoy the beautiful Fred Moore Park while viewing plants and herbs.

VETERAN’S WALL OF HONOR

Veteran’s Wall of Honor is a Memorial dedicated to the African American veterans of World War II from Denton, Texas. Interested in learning about the culture of local Denton veterans, come and enjoy the presentation.

Meet Mrs. willie frances Champion smith

Willie Frances attended Fred Moore Elementary and High School and continued her education at Texas Woman’s University. She worked at Victor Equipment, was a teacher’s aide at Ginnings Elementary, and also worked as a Special Ed. aide. Mrs. Smith was one of the DISD library aides when technology was first introduced. The six library aides installed computers at schools and taught students how to use the them.

Willie Frances was a member of the Denton Garden Club of Texas Federation and won numerous ribbons; her favorite plant is the African Violet. She is a regular member of the American Legion Hall Senior Center and advisory board, and is a member of Saint James AME Church. A self-taught storyteller, she is a mother of six children, grandmother of seven, and great grandmother of eleven.
