GRIT Freedom Chair

Parks and Rec is bringing hiking to everyone with the GRIT Freedom Chair. GRIT Freedom Chair is a self-propelled, all-terrain wheelchair that is navigable over dirt, rocks, mud, and hills. This wheelchair mountain bike mash up is helping more people explore our trails and experience the outdoors in a more natural way. The GRIT Freedom chair will be used in our adapted programs and made available upon request to participants of other Parks and Rec programs, such as trail hikes, outdoor camps, nature programs, and more. Please contact Mia Macy at Mia.Macy@cityofdenton.com for more information on the GRIT Freedom Chair and how to request program accommodations.
