ABSTRACT The research was conducted for applying detector tubes which originally designed for detecting volatile organic compounds in air, to detect and measure vapor of volatile organic compounds in soil. The detectors were modified to be able to trap the vapor in soil 1 m. depth. By testing the system in 3 factories using TCE, it was found that it can locate TCE contaminated locations correctly.
