The Derby Leisure Card is a annual discount card, giving you reduced prices on activities in our leisure facilities and pools. We have a range of cards to suit everyone.
Resident Leisure Card If you live in Derby you can get a 20% discount at our sports centre and pools with our Leisure Card. The annual cost is £11 for adults and £5.55 for young people under 16. Non-Resident Leisure Card If you don’t live in Derby you can still access great deals at our sports centres and pools. You can get a 10% discount with our Non-Resident Leisure card. The annual cost is £11 for adults and £5.55 for young people under 16. Concessionary Leisure Card Our Concessionary Leisure Card offers 40% discount on activities. It’s available for anyone living in Derby aged over 65 years, registered disabled, and fulltime students. The annual cost is £5.55. Family Leisure Card Our Family Leisure Card is available for up to two adults, a maximum of five people. Families living in Derby can get 20% discount. If you live outside the city you can still claim a 10% discount. The annual cost is £22
Recreation Leisure Card For Derby residents who are: • over 18 and in receipt of universal credit. (exclusions may apply, depending on income limit. Please ask at centres for more information) • an unemployed school leaver between 16 and 18 years old. • disabled claiming Disability Living Allowance, Incapacity Benefit or Carer’s Allowance. • volunteers through the European volunteer services. • unemployed asylum seekers. • Derby City Council Foster Carers. • receiving Guaranteed Pensions Credit. The six month cost is £2.90. Discounted activities include swimming and racket sports from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Adults £1.25, Juniors 65p. Activities not included are charged at the concessionary rate. Free family cards Up to four extra Recreation Leisure cards at no extra cost will be provided for members of the family financially dependant on the primary payer living at the same address. Terms and conditions apply to all Derby Leisure Cards 1. All Derby Leisure Cards are valid for one year, except the Recreation Leisure Card with is valid for six months. 2. You must show proof of Derby city residency to receive the 20% discount, by providing a Council Tax bill. Without proof then your reduction will be 10%. 3. To receive the Concessionary Leisure Card and Recreation Leisure Card you must provide proof you are in receipt of the stated criteria to receive the discounted cards. Exclusions may apply to certain benefits and criteria to receive the discounts may change, updates will be displayed on our webpage inderby.org.uk/lesiurecard. 4. To apply for the 75 year old saver card, ID will be required showing date of birth. For example a birth certificate, passport or driving licence. 5. You must show your Derby Leisure Card on every occasion to get reduced charges or discounted entry. 6. Discounted Leisure Card prices may not be available for some sessions and activities. 7. Your Derby Leisure Card cannot be used by anyone else other than yourself. 8. Your Derby Leisure Card does not give you priority over other users or guarantee the availability of facilities. 9. To receive discounted activity price for recreation leisure card holders, all participants must have a valid recreation card, or you will be charged the concessionary price 10. You must tell us if your circumstances change which may affect your category of membership. Please speak to a receptionist at one of the centres. If your Leisure Card category has changed, we will cancel your current membership and give you a refund for any unexpired whole months. You can then choose whether you wish to purchase a new Leisure Card for your new category of membership. 11. If you are unable to use your Derby Leisure Card you may cancel it by returning your card to one of our sports centres and telling us the reason for cancellation. Refunds will not be given for unused months. 12. You agree to comply with the Council’s Sports Centre Regulations, Swimming Pool Byelaws, and rules as to behaviour, safety rules and any byelaws relevant to any facility you use. These items are prominently displayed at each facility. The Council reserves the right to cancel your Derby Leisure Card if you do not wish to comply with these rules, regulations and byelaws. We may also cancel your Derby Leisure Card if you abuse the scheme or abuse our staff or other users or otherwise interfere with others use and enjoyment of the facility. Except in the most serious cases we will tell you if we propose to cancel your card and give you the chance to comment. We will then refund a proportionate part of the Leisure Card based upon the number of unexpired whole months. 13. If you lose or damage your Derby Leisure Card, report it immediately to a sports centre. We will charge for a replacement card. 14. During un-programmed sessions, children under the age of eight must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 17 or over at all times. 15. Carers can take part in activities for free when participating in an activity with the person they are caring for. ID will be required and restrictions may apply. 16. Recreation Leisure Card holders can hire equipment for free. Leisure Cards are to be left as a deposit. Non-returned or damaged equipment will be recharged to the hirer.
Changes to scheme benefits and payments 1. Our centres are normally closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. We normally close our facilities early on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and public holidays. We may also close a facility if it is required in connection with a Parliamentary, European or local government election or for occasional special events. No refunds of the cost of your Leisure Card will be available for these periods. Details of our opening and closing times for these periods will be displayed on our website in advance. 2. We may need to close a facility or part of it for repair and maintenance or where it has suffered damage and is unfit or unsafe to use. In these circumstances we will endeavour to give you as much notice as practicable by displaying notices at the facility. We will also indicate the location of any alternative facilities that will be available during such period of closure. Where we will need to close any facility for longer than a week you can choose either to extend the expiry date of your Leisure Card to reflect its non-availability and the availability of alternative facilities provided by us or receive a refund of a proportionate amount to reflect your losses. 3. We will give advance notice of any changes to charges or conditions for use of facilities such as price increases by displaying details at each centre.
Conditions of advanced hire 1. Derby Leisure Card holders can make a booking for a single letting up to seven days in advance either in person, online or by telephone. You must quote Leisure Card number at the time of booking. 2. Recreation Leisure Card holders can make a booking for a single letting up to seven days in advance, but will be charged the concessionary Leisure price. You cannot book in advance for discounted activities. 3. You cannot use your Leisure Card to book any facility or activity for other people. You must be taking part in the activity to take advantage of the advanced booking and payment discounts. 4. You cannot use your Leisure Card to book more than one letting at a time, for example you cannot book two squash courts at the same time using one Leisure Card. 5. You can use your Leisure Card to book consecutive lettings; however you must be using the facility or activity throughout the entire time of all the lettings. 6. You cannot use an individual Derby Leisure Card to book any facility for an organisation or club. 7. You cannot re-book the facility for the same time the following week until the pre-booked period has finished. 8. You may cancel a booked facility, giving a minimum of 24-hours’ notice. If you cannot give us 24-hours’ notice and we are unable to re-let the booking/court/activity then no refund will be given and full payment will have to be made. If we take a booking from you for a facility and it is not available due to circumstances outside your control we will refund any booking fee you have paid.
