HELLO © Robert Day

Our Christmas season has come around quickly and we hope you’ll join us for an awfully big adventure as Peter Pan flies into Derby Arena. Producers Little Wolf are back for a third year and, after the success of Jack and the Beanstalk, we can’t wait for the barrel load of laughs and spectacular treats we know they’ll have in store for us. With a pinch of fairy dust and a Christmas wish, magical things start to happen when The Babbling Vagabonds return with their family-friendly show The Christmas Toy Shop Mystery. Expect puppets, songs and lots of silliness in this festive adventure for younger children in the Guildhall Theatre after its temporary closure this year. This year Derby Folk Festival will be taking a break from the normal format, and, in its place, Derby LIVE and PR Promotions will be hosting the Derby Folk Weekender.

Folk fans can expect international artists including Kongero (Sweden), De Temps Antan (Canada) and Andy Irvine (Ireland), as well as music sessions and fringe events in the Cathedral Quarter. Keep the kids occupied this half term with The Christmas Toyshop Mystery Workshop, where they will design their own toys and share stories of adventure! At Derby Arena, What’s Love Got To Do With It? is set to wow audiences with a high energy, feel good rock and roll spectacular, featuring stunning musical arrangements of Tina Turner’s classic hits. Last, but not least, the concert of the year is back again. The grassy slopes of Darley Park will play host to thousands of visitors as the residents of Derby come together for a night of classical music and fireworks at The Hannells Darley Park Concert. Join us for the celebrations, and don’t forget your picnic!
