Foundation Classes
All Foundation Skin Classes are recommended prerequisites for Advanced Skin Classes. International Skin Care Techniques Hands-on: 10am–5pm (3-day class) This is it: your foundation of a successful career in professional skin care where you’ll learn exclusive IDI cleansing and massage routines together with a full understanding of a complete professional skin care treatment. Increase your confidence with this core treatment class that is so important to your success it’s a recommended prerequisite for all IDI postgraduate classes. *NOTE: In order to receive an IDI certificate of completion, students are required to meet IDI standards of the skill-set taught in this 3 day class.
Chinese Diagnosis: Face and Body Reading Hands-on: 10am-5pm Each skin condition is a reflection of the whole body and its well-being. Learn how to discover a client’s energy type, how it affects the skin, and whether the client is predominantly a “Yin” [passive] or “Yang” [active] type energy. Understand the facial lines and anomalies that denote specific body organs, and most importantly, how each organ impacts the skin. Expand your understanding of the skin/organ connection for a smarter product prescription and a correctly customized treatment to deliver the desired results to your client.
Master Classes
Acne: Types, Triggers and Treatment Hands-on: 10am–5pm This advanced acne treatment class gets you updated on statistics, grades of acne, contributing factors, scarring and ingredient technology for superior treatment and real results. Includes practical hands-on session featuring IDI’s extraction technique.
Skin Series: Eczema and Psoriasis Theory: 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm Uncover the mysteries behind psoriasis and eczema, all to help you help your clients take charge of these challenging skin conditions.
Acids, Peels and Exfoliants Hands-on: 10am–5pm From deep chemical peels to microdermabrasion, skin renewal is the most demanded service in our industry. Explore the many treatment and exfoliation options available while examining skin histology and evaluating current formulas and treatments through theory and practical hands-on.
Skin Series: How the Skin Works Theory: 10am–1pm or 2pm–5pm Take a view through the microscope into the anatomy and histology of skin, including a layer by layer analysis of the epidermis, the structural changes associated with eczema, dry skin, psoriasis, and the importance of the dermal epidermal junction in skin aging, and so much more.
Skin Analysis 101 Hands-on: 10am–5pm Learn to identify and distinguish between skin conditions, disorders and diseases and how to prescribe the right home care regimen. Skin analysis is the foundation you’ll build a successful career upon.
Advanced Classes Understanding Cosmeceutical Ingredients Theory: 10am–1pm or 2pm to 5pm What’s hype, what’s hoopla, what’s safe, what’s dangerous? The experts at IDI created this class so you can have the answers when your clients come with questions. Join us as we dissect cosmeceutical ingredients and ingredient technology available to our clients today. Leant to sift through products and ingredients to protect yourself from those that don’t deliver results, and how to capitalize on ingredients that create happy clients for life. Treating Sensitive Skin Hands-on: 10am–5pm Treat clients with sensitized skin effectively and confidently in the treatment room and learn how to coach them, correctly! Results and Treatments for an Aging Skin Hands-on: 10am–5pm Take an honest look at ingredient fact versus fiction and the ultimate skin treatment for aging skin. Chinese Acupressure Hands-on: 10am-5pm (2-day class) Originating in China more than 2000 years ago, Chinese Acupressure is a coherent and independent system of thought and practice. Skin treatments can incorporate Chinese Acupressure to improve circulation, skin tone and elasticity. Learn the history behind this ancient technique while studying the vital energy, or life force, known as “Qi” - and how it affects health and well-being. Improve circulation and balance to bring about superior stress relief with this powerful traditional Chinese technique!
