What, then, is the audience to take away from this exhibition? Lin Jingjing floods our mind with an urgent sense of uncertainty, and states: “It’s a process of casting doubt, questioning the reasons for existence, the means of existence, the extent of rights, our sense of direction, what is pressing, what makes us fall silent, how pressing matters become unimportant, the limits of value, the absurd behind the real, the loss behind existence, the cruelty of consciousness, the compromise behind humanity, the anxiety of desire, the struggle behind dreams, the avoidance of rejection, the self-doubt behind weakness, the negativity behind confusion. We must find the possible in the impossible through skepticism.” – Lin Jingjing
