Tesla crashes into a fire truck.
Walnut Creek (California) - Serious accident in Northern California: On Saturday, a Tesla driver died after crashing his car into a fire truck. His passenger was seriously injured.
The fatal accident occurred around 4 a.m. (local time). According to fire officials, the fire truck had been parked on a freeway in Northern California while recovering from another accident. The fire truck had its lights on and was parked at an angle on the roadway to protect responders from the other accident.
The Tesla driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger had to be cut out of the car and was taken to a hospital. Four firefighters who were in the fire truck were treated for minor injuries.
It took several hours before the highway was passable again. Finally, the fire truck had to be towed away.
Adam Lane of the Highway Patrol said it was unclear whether the Tesla driver was intoxicated at the crash or whether the Tesla Model S was operating with automation or driverassist features.
The U.S. Federal Highway and Vehicle Safety Administration is taking a hard look at Tesla’s automated driving systems in an extensive investigation. It examines how Tesla’s Autopilot system detects and responds to emergency vehicles parked on highways. At least 14 Teslas have collided with emergency vehicles while using the system.
The Model S was among nearly 363,000 vehicles Tesla recalled Thursday over possible flaws in its “Full Self-Driving” system. The recall aims to fix potential problems at intersections and with speed limits.
The first Israeli delegation to Turkey is making its way back to Israel
complicated rescue; we broke through the basement into an apartment above us, where the boy was. Through the spaces we created, we managed to rescue the child, and after I checked him, I realized that he was in excellent medical condition. It was gratifying, but nothing prepared me for when he ran barefoot to his grandfather, who was waiting for him outside.’
The first Israeli delegation that traveled to Turkey to assist in locating, rescuing, and treating victims in the disaster area began this morning (Monday) to complete its mission and is now making its way back to Israel. During 8 complex days, the delegation managed to rescue 19 people from the ruins while still alive. A representative of Magen David Adom to the Home Front Command delegation, director of the emergency department, and MDA paramedic, Lt. Col. (res.) Felix Lotan summarizes the activities conducted in the disaster area. He describes the rescue operations in ruins - from the problematic sights to the signs of life and when the rescued 6-year-old boy ran into his grandfather’s arms.
We arrived late at night at the disaster area in Karamanmarsh,’ Felix recalls, “Moments later, I was already called to assist the teams of the Home Front Command. We were directed to the ruins of a building where a small child was trapped. It was a
“I don’t remember going to sleep at all in the first few days,” says Felix, “we were in a specific area, and all of our team worked on very few hours of sleep and food - not because there was none, but because there is no time to eat and no time to waste.” We moved from place to place, from building to building, and at one point, we began a very long rescue - two people trapped under the ruins of one of the buildings.’
Hours into that complex rescue, Felix receives a message that there is another rescue - a woman identified under the rubble not far away and in a challenging situation. “The doctor of the rescue unit asked for another senior medical person with him to make decisions, and I got there quickly. The leg of the 27-year-old woman was trapped in a complex way under the rubble, and we are debating whether to perform an amputation to rescue her. Unfortunately, time worked against us, but after consulting with a rescue officer, we decided not to amputate the leg and continue with a different rescue method. Finally, after an hour of rescue efforts, we released the portion without amputating it. The woman was in a very narrow and crowded space, it was tough to move there, but another hour passed, and we managed to extricate her alive.
The woman was rescued and conveyed for further medical treatment. Minutes later, Felix was called back to the first site, where the rescue was still underway. “We were in the middle of a situation assessment, and suddenly they ran to me and told me that they needed my help at the previous site after the teams broke into perform an assessment and medical treatment because the teams detected signs of life. So I entered the ruins and finally reached a man about 60 years old who was conscious. I performed medical tests, and when I realized it was possible - together with the team - we started to pull him out while he was conscious.’
Over six days and at the end of complex rescue operations, the members of the Israeli delegation, including a paramedic and director of the emergency department at MDA Felix Lotan, managed to rescue 19 people from the ruins, including a father and his children from the destroyed buildings. But on the 7th day of the mission, the delegation members were called to stop the search - the chances of finding survivors alive were very low. “We are folding our temporary base,” said Felix with mixed emotions, “It was an amazing job, and we saved a lot of lives, but we would have been happy to save many more. So I am returning to Israel to help understand how to prepare and implement the treatment methods conducted here in Turkey during the last week if, God forbid, a disaster of this magnitude will happen in the State of Israel.’

Jesse Gabriel Introduces the Electric Vehicle Charging for All Act
Legislation Would Require EV Chargers to Include Universal Connectors, Reduce “Range Anxiety” By Enabling Drivers to Access Any Public EV Charger in the State
SACRAMENTO, CA — Today, Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel (D - Woodland Hills) announced new legislation that would address “range anxiety” and bolster consumer confidence by requiring all new and retrofitted electric vehicle (EV) chargers in California to be accessible to all types of electric cars. In particular, Assembly Bill (AB) 591 will mandate that all new and retrofitted EV chargers—other than those in private residences—include universal connectors and be publicly accessible to all EVs.
“Charging an EV should be as easy as filling up your tank at a gas station,” said Assemblymember Gabriel. “Ensuring that EV chargers are open and accessible to all vehicles is essential for increasing driver confidence in our state’s charging network, reducing carbon emissions, and meeting California’s ambitious climate goals. This bill will strengthen efforts by the Biden Administration to progress on this critical issue.”
“Communities of color and low-income communities disproportionately bear the consequences of climate change, yet have been the last to benefit from California’s clean transportation transition due to high costs and a lack of infrastructure in the areas they live and work,” said Alvaro Sanchez, Vice President of Policy at The Greenlining Institute. “To achieve the state’s ambitious climate goals, all Californians must have equitable
access to clean transportation options. AB 591 takes us one step closer to making electric mobility more affordable and ensuring EV
whether a vehicle can charge when it arrives at a charging station, remain fragmented across different vehicle and charger models. For a driver, this
infrastructure is accessible to everyone in California.”
AB 591 builds upon recent federal action taken by the Biden-Harris administration that outlines new nationwide plans for creating convenient and reliable electric vehicle charging networks. In keeping with this call to action, AB 591 mandates all EV chargers in California to include universal connecting ports. In addition, it directs private companies such as Tesla to open their chargers to the public, thereby dramatically increasing the number of chargers available to EV drivers in California. The legislation also will help facilitate the transition to zero-emission vehicles outlined in Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order N-79-20, which requires all new passenger vehicles sold in California to be zero-emission by 2035. Charger connectors, which determine
means that fast charging requires that they not only find a nearby station but also verify whether that charging station has a connector compatible with their vehicle. This inconsistency and lack of certainty inconveniences EV drivers creates confusion and hesitancy among prospective EV buyers, hinders widespread vehiclegrid integration, and exacerbates “range anxiety,”—which is often cited as one of the most significant barriers to EV purchases. Universal connectors will reduce that barrier while streamlining the charging process. Improving electric vehicle infrastructure is also essential to protecting public health. The transportation sector is responsible for more than half of California’s carbon pollution, 80 percent of smogforming pollution, and 95 percent of toxic diesel emissions.
HOLLYWOOD MOURNS RAQUEL WELCH ”We’ve lost a real icon.”
The world has lost one of the most significant sex symbols of the 20th century.
Raquel Welch († 82) is dead. The actress died Wednesday morning after a “brief illness,” said her management. In social networks, stars say goodbye to Hollywood beauty.
“So sad to hear of Raquel Welch’s death,” actress Reese Witherspoon (46) tweeted. She loved being in front of the camera with Welch in Legally Blonde (2001). “She was elegant, professional and incredibly glamorous. Simply stunning, simply gorgeous. May all her angels carry her home?”
Actor Antonio Banderas (62) posted four photos of Welch on Twitter with a black heart emoji. “Rest in peace,” wrote the Spaniard.
Director and producer Paul Feig (60) also paid tribute to the late actress. “It’s so sad. I had the great pleasure of working with Ms. Welch when I was a regular on ‘Sabrina Bewitched!’ and she was fantastic,” he wrote.
He continued: “Friendly, funny and a real superstar who I was in love with for most of my childhood. Unfortunately, we have lost a true icon.”
Actress and comedian Sandra Bernhard (67) wrote: “A unique beauty who spread her great charisma wherever she appeared.”
Welch was THE sex symbol in Hollywood in the 1960s. In 1995, Empire magazine named her one of the “100 Sexiest Stars in Motion Picture History.” In Playboy, she took third place in the “100 Sexiest Stars of the 20th Century”.
She owed the title mainly to her role in the 1966 film “One Million Years B.C.” In it, she showed herself in a skimpy bikini made of deerskin. She also landed on the film poster in the outfit and became a sex symbol overnight at 26.
“The release of this famous movie poster changed everything in my life in one fell swoop,” Welch later wrote in her memoir.
“We are saddened to hear of the passing of legendary actress Raquel Welch,” wrote the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation of the late producer and animator Ray Harryhausen († 92) on Twitter.
“An iconic role that spawned one of the most iconic movie posters of all time,” the tweet read. “Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.”
During her career, Welch has worked with Hollywood greats such as James Stewart (“Bandolero”), Frank Sinatra (“Lady in Cement”), John Huston (“Myra Breckinridge”) and Burt Reynolds (“The Walking Dead”).
She was twice nominated for a Golden Globe and won the prestigious award in the musical/ comedy category in 1975 for her performance in The Three Musketeers, starring Faye Dunaway and Charlton Heston.
Welch was married four times and divorced four times. Her first marriage has two children, a son Damon and a daughter Tahnee.
She was considered a Hollywood beauty: Raquel Welch in the movie "A Million Years Before Time" (1966)

SHARON STONE MOURNS HER BROTHER
Another great loss for Sharon Stone (64) and her family.
Tears are streaming down her face, her eyes seem empty, and the grief is endless. The Hollywood icon addressed her 3.6 million followers on Tuesday night and sadly announced: her brother Patrick has died.
At the age
“He is survived by his wife Tasha, son Hunter and daughter Kaylee,” Stone says. And tries to smile bravely. But unfortunately, according to TMZ, “Patrick died of a heart attack.
Sharon Stone: “We’ve had hard losses in the last two years, like many
In 2020, the actress lost her “second mother,” whom she affectionately called Betty Williams (†76). The Nobel laureate had pneumonia, was hospitalized, and died a short time later.
Just one year later, the next stroke of fate. In August 2022, Sharon’s nephew River, Patrick’s son, died of “complete organ failure”. He was only eleven months old.
Now River and his father are
reunited in heaven.
In addition to her tearful video, Sharon Stone posted on Instagram another post, two private photos remembering Patrick: arm in arm with his sister Sharon; in the second photo, he laughs happily at the camera. “Rest in peace, my brother Patrick Joseph Stone,” she wrote.
Patrick’s wife Tasha is also devastated, TMZ quoted her as saying: “My heart feels like it’s been ripped out. Patrick has gone to be with our sweet River. I hope you will always be with me and watch over Hunter, Kaylee and me. Until we meet again, I will hold you and our memories. I love you.”
Now she has two angels watching over her, Patrick and Baby River. “I hope you both have a wonderful time.”

are rarely life-threatening. But in Jesse Brown’s case, according to his family, they caused a second, deadly infection: the spots on his leg were reportedly caused by flesh-eating bacteria.
“They (doctors, ed.) said that the ankle was weakened after the sprain, and that’s probably why the infection attacked there,” Megan Brown told “Fox35 Orlando.”
The bacteria invaded Jesse Brown’s body, causing his brain to swell. Shortly after he was admitted, the boy died at the hospital.
Hundreds of students gathered to remember the boy at Lakemont Elementary School, where Jesse Brown was in fifth grade. “Jesse was not only a miracle to his parents and family, but a blessing to his family at Lakemont,” school officials wrote of the fifth-grader.
Betsy and Brad Brown of Winter Park (US state of Florida) had been trying to start a family for ten years. When doctors told the couple they would never have children, Jesse came unexpectedly.
Now the boy has died suddenly as a result of a sports injury.
Little Jesse had sprained his ankle on the treadmill. Actually, a harmless
injury, like millions of other people have every day. The boy was given an orthopedic boot to protect the ankle.
A few days later, Jesse Brown’s leg was full of “purple-red spots that looked like bruises,” his cousin Megan tells local station “ Fox35 Orlando.”
The boy was immediately taken to a hospital and diagnosed with A streptococcus. These bacteria

Kafka’s Joke
Palm Springs, CA -Desert Ensemble Theatre (DET) will present the world premiere of Kafka’s Joke, written by Rich Rubin and directed by DET’s Artistic Director, Jerome Elliott Moskowitz. This fastpaced, 90-minute comedy recounts 120 years in the life (and after-life) of Franz Kafka, the literary world’s most reluctant celebrity. How did the ownership of Kafka’s work end up in the Israeli Supreme Court in 2016? Kafka wanted to be forgotten and his words to be burned. Kafka’s Joke recalls the many twists and turns and colorful characters who took Kafka’s writings from Prague, throughout Europe and eventually to Tel Aviv. Who owns his writings? An elderly secretary, Germany or Israel?
Kafka’s Joke will run for two weekends, March 10-12 and March 17-19, 2023, with performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
DET is pleased to present this worldpremiere production by playwright Rich Rubin. Rich is a Portland, OR, resident and winner of the Julie Harris Playwright award and many other distinguished prizes. Kafka’s Joke is a natural fit for DET’s series of ‘West Coast Originals.’
DET Artistic Director Jerome Elliott Moskowitz states: “Kafka’s Joke is a masterfully written story rich in irony, fascinating history, and deftly realized characterizations. With the recent publication of Kafka’s unfiltered diaries, now is the perfect time for
audiences to explore one of literature’s most enigmatic figures.”
The cast features DET veterans Melanie Blue, John Corr, Larry Dyekman and Charles Herrera. Noted musical theatre personality Jaci Davis makes her debut in her first nonsinging dramatic role.

KIM’S BRAVADO PARADE WITH GUNFIRE AND ROCKETS
Amid dangerously rising tensions between the US and South Korea, North Korea demonstrated military prowess at a nighttime military parade, showcasing newly developed weapon systems.
Regarding satellite images, experts assume North Korea displayed more ICBMs than ever at its troop shows on the 75th anniversary of its armed forces. In addition, novel rockets were also demonstrated.
Record number of ICBMs: Dictator Kim Jong-un (39) is ready for war!
The “ICBMs” shown demonstrated “enormous nuclear power,” explained the propaganda media after the deployment of weapons and soldiers. The pictures from North Korea show Kim accepting the parade with soldiers marching and armored and missile vehicles driving by. Then, from the grandstand, he looks at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, brightly lit by searchlights.
The spectacle started with fireworks
and cannon shots. Then, according to the North Korean media, all participants greeted Kim Jong-un with “stormy cheers.”
Kim was accompanied by his wife, Ri Sol-Ju (33) and young daughter, Ju-ae (11). On several occasions, Kim recently took his daughter to weapons tests and military visits.
In South Korea, this is interpreted as a possible message from the autocratic ruler to its citizens: North Korea will be protected by nuclear weapons in the future.
The crowd cheers “enthusiastically.”
As the ICBMs drove by, the crowd erupted in “enthusiastic cheers,” the propaganda department “KCNA” reported. The fact is: the population has no other choice!
Footage of the swanky parade indicated 10 to 12 North Korean Hwasong-17 ICBMs, North Korea expert Ankit Panda wrote on Twitter. “That’s more ICBM launchers combined than ever seen at a North Korean parade.” Dubbed the Hwasongpho-17, North Korea’s missile is the largest ICBM in its arsenal.
Intercontinental ballistic missiles, which have a range of at least 5,500 kilometers, are considered the most important means of delivering nuclear weapons. North Korea’s development of strategic missiles is aimed mainly at the USA, which Pyongyang repeatedly threatens.
Explosive: According to Panda and other experts, the first photos show that North Korea now also has solidfuel rockets - these are ready for use quickly because they do not have to be refueled before use.
Tensions on the Korean peninsula have increased significantly since 2022. According to a UN expert report, Pyongyang tested at least 73 ballistic test missiles, 42 of them alone in the last four months of last year - a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
The US and South Korea have resumed full-scale joint military exercises to deter North Korea.
The pictures of the aggressive Protz show
Conclusion: According to experts, the weapons’ extent and scope demonstrated worrying progress. “More ICBMs were displayed at the recent parade than ever before,” Panda warned.
And further: With this deployment, North Korea has now proven that its nuclear forces are anything but “limited.”
Fat ICBMs are driven over Kim Il-sung Square - the capital Pyongyang is designed to mobilize crowds and military
