President’s Message Hey guys!! I’m so happy with where our club has been going these days. The board members have been on top of everything in order to ensure we prove DOHS key Club as a successful key club! We have decided on a club shirt (voted by the club as a whole), and will be ordering it soon, so I can’t wait for that! We have also found plentiful service opportunities coming up and I can’t wait to attend some of these, especially that of opportunity village, in which we plan to attend as a key club board! Fall rally did occur on 11/11, and although I had planned to go, I was unfortunately, last minute, unable to attend. After seeing pictures and hearing about how it went from board members and general members, it seems it was a success! I do, however, get serious FOMO every time I hear about it or see a picture since it was my last chance to attend one ;( .

Editor’s Note Hey Key-uties! Wow! I can’t believe it’s already November…also my bday month ;). These past few weeks have been very eventful and beyond fun! RTC was a blast, FRS was better than expected, and I’m so proud of our club and all of our amazing members! I must say that post-RTC depression is brutal, and now with FRS done it’s even worse! Still, my second year in Key Club is the best one yet! I cannot express enough how amazing RTC was. We were Barbies. Everyone loved us, and our cheers were stunning. This term so far has been completely unforgettable and I can’t wait to see how next term will turn out. I hope you guys enjoy this issue of the Diamondback Digest! It contains your articles and visuals, a recap of RTC and FRS, division and district information, and some club recognition! See you next month!

Hey Barbie!
Pom Poms 16
Let’s hear from the Barbies! That’s my Barbie!
I loved RTC so much that I literally balled my eyes out after I got home. You get to meet and reach out to so many new people from different schools and I even got to reconnect with friends from previous years. The aftermath and post RTC depression is so real just because you want to go back and replay it all over again. I really loved the workshops this year and all the fun icebreakers that you do. Icebreakers and things like reaching out can be so scary sometimes but at RTC you can truly just be yourself. Loud, proud, and just representing who you and your club are through the cheers and chants. There is no event like RTC and it seriously holds a special place in my heart

RTC was an amazing experience and I am so sad that it’s over. We were Barbies and everyone LOVED us. We would walk around the halls of Green Valley HS saying “HI BARBIE!” or “HI KEN!” like maniacs. Other key clubbers would start randomly saying it to us too. All of the other key clubbers were so nice and it was fun getting to interact and talk with them. I especially loved our Barbies from Clark HS. I met amazing people at the workshops I went to as well and I learned so much more about Key Club and leadership. At the spirit sessions we cheered other clubs with our PINk PINK pom poms. At the mosh pit, we started a conga line which by the end of I almost passed away. Afterwards to rest we started a huge marshmallow circle where key clubbers kept on joining and joining and eventually we made it to 5 marshmallows!!! During the whole day I ran around taking pictures, videos, and for a lot of key-uties from other key clubs to take a picture with our barbie photo prop. I am so happy that all of the work (and stress) that was put into RTC worked out. It was most definitely worth it and right now the post-RTC depression is getting to me. I can’t wait to go again next year! And this time DO is ready to DOMINATE!!

RTC was really fun! I loved meeting all the other keyclubbers and I learned a lot from the workshops I went in. I remember going in this lei making workshop with my friends but it was so packed with people and we got kicked out, I still had fun doing icebreakers in other workshops though! The food they provided was really good and I ate like 8 pickles. Being able to interact with other keyclubbers really gave me a lot more confidence in my social skills. RTC was overall REAALLY fun and I loved cheering, I’ll definitely go to RTC in all the upcoming years. :)

RTC went amazing! I’m so glad that it went the way it did, even without winning. I’m so happy and proud of all our members and officers for all their hard work at this event. This was my last RTC but it definitely served it’s best. While I did not present this time, I would definitely recommend to those going next year as it helps members feel more involved and into the event. I can’t wait to see how RTC goes next year, even though I won’t be there!
I LOVE MY BARBIES!! This year’s RTC was such an unforgettable experience going as Barbies. Although we didn’t win the spirit stick, we still got to cheer our hearts away and connect with all the other Key Clubbers in our region. Going to all the workshops as well was very exciting especially our spirit coordinator Diviy’s workshop “Promoting Inclusionvity”! Everything about the event made me not want to leave and I’m already looking forward towards next year’s RTC!!
Hey Barbie! Catherine Nguyen | 11
RTC went really well! It was my first RTC and I had so much fun. I made so many new friends from all of the divisions and everyone was soooo kind!! I enjoyed the workshops I went to. I was also able to see my friends from the other clubs that I haven’t seen in a long time! I cannot wait to go to RTC again next year :)
Isabella Abando | 9 This RTC was truly was a one of a kind experience! We were able to be runner ups for the division cheers along with Clark and Sierra Vista. It was so fun saying hi to all the other barbies and just being able to be myself was so amazing. RTC is the kind of event where you can’t explain it to members, but once you go it’s unforgettable!

SOUTH 2023 Ears perked up!
Snorkels out! 20
Snazzy Seamon Fall Rally was super super fun! This was my second year going and I would definitely say it was better than last year. I went on 3 rides this year and they were all super fun except super scary. We also ate a ton of food and the spirit session was so cool and everyone did so well!! I loved every second of it even though I’m super tired. I would recommend everyone to go if they can because its a extremely fun experience to have with your club!!
Olivia Nguyen | 10 Fall Rally was so fun! This was my first year going and it was such an amazing experience. It was super fun seeing all the key clubs from different states, and hearing all the different cheers. I also really enjoyed being able to meet new people and make friends from different key clubs. Overall Fall Rally was a great experience!

This Fall Rally South went well because I managed to go on 2 new rides. In the beginning, the busses were running late on schedule. I’m surprised that I managed to actually sleep most of the ride because the best didn’t have the best comfort. Anyway all of the spirit sticks were SOO VISUALLY PLEASING. Everyone’s mascots were so cute and this made me realize how much divisions are in the CNH district alone. This is my second time going to Six Flags and I always get major trip depression once it’s over
Avery Bautista | 11
nkeys at FRS!! This is my second time at Fall Rally and this time was by far the best Fall Rally! I spent my FRS with my best friend, Jimena, and just being able to relax and spend time with a good friend on rides is super nice! Also during Fall Rally, I was waiting at the table while all my friends were getting me food and Charlotte, who is the D28N Lt. Governor, just sat with me and slept while I waited for my food so that was super nice. It was also super fun walking around the park and saying," Moonnnnsssss!" to every D28W member.
Diviyana Kumar | 11 This was my best Fall Rally South yet! I got to ride way more rides than last time and Jimena got me a Batman cape! I felt so cool the whole day with that cape. I love that cape. It’s on my wall now. We also kidnapped (unintentionally)our LTG, Izzy! We L O V E our amazing LTG. She is so sweet and nice and she honestly made an amazing day even better. It was so fun hanging out with everybody and walking around the park with them. I loved seeing the different Key Clubs and their spirit sticks. I even got to get mac N cheese again but this time it didn’t take three hours in line to get it. It’s still the best mac N cheese of my life. Although we didn’t get to use most of our cheers, the spirit session was still a blast. D28W MOOOONS WERE AMAZING! And the D28N PHOENIXES were so feisty and loud for such a small group and i loved their cheers. At the end of the day, the long lines didn’t even bother me… not one bit.
