Premier, Opposition Leader Mark Israel’s 75th Anniversary
More than 600 people including NSW Premier Chris Minns and Opposition Leader Mark Speak- man attended a gala reception in Sydney on May 3 to mark Israel’s 75th anniversary, hosted by the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD).
Representatives from an enormous number of consulates and faith communities joined state and federal politicians and religious leaders to celebrate Israel’s 75th year of independence.
Premier Minns spoke about the strong relationship between his government and the JBD, noting the strong interfaith presence on the night.
“I particularly want to acknowledge Darren Bark, the CEO of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, and pay tribute tonight to the role that the Board of Deputies has played in building that strong relationship across our diverse communities, and I think it’s demonstrated by the diverse groups that are here with us celebrating tonight,” Minns said.
“The Board’s commitment to social inclusion and interfaith dialogue is exemplary and a perfect fit for the modern state of NSW.”
Noting the rise in religious-based hatred across our state, Minns reaffirmed his government’s
