Ajourney which started in 1996 with humble beginnings of founders to now thousands of karyakartas, patrons, donors, national office bearers, core committee members, friends and well wishers across Australia united by a common thread –

“Sewa Hi Paramo Dharmaha”

Sewa team in Australia which consists of

Sewa Australia which focuses on projects within Australia and Sewa International which focuses on projects outside of Australia including India celebrated the Silver Jubilee on 16th April at Bowman Hall, Blacktown, NSW.

It was an incredible evening of cultural extravaganza with a theme of –

“Classical Dance Forms of India” which showcased India’s rich cultural heritage to honour, felicitate and celebrate the selfless contribution of our volunteers over the years.

During the program, Sewa Australia showcased many of their projects like

4 Family Support Services

4 Seniors Milan

4 Crack Your First Job initiative.

4 Work to help Flood affected victims at

Lismore

4 Refugee migrant woman training in collaboration with Jesuit Refugee Service

4 Blood and Plasma donation

4 Tree plantation and Clean-up Australia

4 Feeding the Homeless initiative

4 Family empowerment sessions etc

Sewa International on the other hand showcased their projects like

4 Work done at India during Covid-19 pandemic

4 Mangala Nidhi

4 Tribal Women Empowerment & Education

4 Disaster Relief and rehabilitation

4 Maitreyi Gurukuka

4 School kit program etc

Many dignitaries graced the occasion including Consul General of India Mr. Manish Gupta and Mrs. Nimeesha Gupta, MP Charishma Kalyanda, AIBC Chair person Jodi McKay, Deputy Mayor Barbara Ward, Deputy Mayor Suman Saha, Deputy Mayor Sameer Pandey, OAM Prof. Nihal Agar, OAM Jaya Raman and others.

Many other people wished Sewa team through Video messages on the occasion including the Hon Minister from India Mr. Piyush Goyal.

President of Sewa Australia Mr.Murthy Anjanappa addressed the audience to give Sewa’s vision for the coming years along with the President of Sewa Intl. Mr. Manoj Desai.
