The bathroom is the largest consumer of indoor water.
Although there are some products which can clean our body without water, they are not a sustainable and relaxing way to clean. Sustainable waterless bathing cleans the human body comfortably and efficiently.

Photocatalyst TiO2 A photocatalyst is a substance that generates catalyst activity using energy from light. Titanium dioxide is the typical material. As well as accelerating chemical reactions like a regular catalyst, the surface of the titanium dioxide photocatalyst has the characteristic of becoming hydrophilic due to the reaction with light.

STYLE 02 The shape is inspried by the sea side where shells are placed on the beach, and people would feel relaxed and soothing when they are there and enjoy the sunlight and the nature.
FINAL DESIGN
Relax and bathe in soft cleansing orbs. Soothe and clean in a bath of gentle glowing light with cleansing properties that leave you clean and refreshed after a warm, waterless bathing experience.
CONCEPT ORB BATH is a new way to clean your body without water. Gentle, warm air flows around your body while orbs cleanse you. The glowing orbs are a soft gel-like substance made of silicone coated with a photocatalyst film, titanium dioxide (TiO2). The cleansing orbs breakdown organic substances such as oil grime, fungus, bacteria and odors. When you immerse yourself, the areas in contact will be cleaned with the orbs. Each light orb has a photonic detector to sense the level of ambient light and regulates optimally. Air flow controls and status sensors are conveniently located within arm's reach. This experience leaves you relaxed, cleansed and refreshed.

Cleansing orbs are made of silicone coated with a photocatalyst film and they help clean the areas they are in contact with.
Each light orb which provides efficient light to the cleansing orbs has a photonic detector to sense the level of ambient light and regulates optimally. The light orbs are charged by the wireless charging system.

After the user places light orbs around their body, the light orbs will detect the level of ambient blue light, then provide the proper level of blue light to activate the cleansing orbs to decompose.
AIR FLOW There are several exhaust vents which blow wind to keep the body’s temperature comfortable.
VACUUMING VENT The vacuuming vents help clean dust and hair in the ORB BATH and the substance will be vacuumed out and stored in the dust bag.

The panel is located within arm’s reach and the user can control the temperature, the range of the air flow and cleaning time.

USAGE PROCESS
1/ The user immerses him/herself in the orbs and places the light orbs around his/her body.
2/ Set up the cleaning settings.
4/ Orbs efficiently decompose organic substances and comfortable air flow blows around the user’s body.
5/ At the end of the cleaning, the dust and hair left in the ORB BATH will be vacuumed.
3/ The light orbs detects the level of ambient blue light and then adjust the luminance.
6/ Cleaning is done.
MODELI NG
The ORB BATH model is mainly made of foam, and the challenge is to make the inner holes and the wave surface. In order to have lively light effect, there is LED lights inside the model of the light orb.
PRESENTATION
The deliverables for this project were a scale model in size 1:5, a poster and digital presentation.
