We have been busy the last few weeks picturing Fall borns, calving, and helping
families at the expos. It has been a lot of long nights and early mornings, but if you asked anyone around here, the common response would be, “We are living the dream.” We are excited about the cattle we have assembled for the sale and have a lot of faith in their genetics and the quality. We try and improve every year and make it bigger and better. This set is an example of our best fall borns along with a few other highly respected operations in the country.
We know it cost a lot to show cattle and that can make it a challenge for a lot of families to compete, last year our Fall borns averaged $5,500. Two of them went on to be Reserve Supreme Champion at their respected Junior Nationals, three others were Divison Champions at National Shows and State Fairs. We are proud of that, and also realize the hardwork and time families put into them made the difference. We have just got back from the Iowa Beef Expo and Illinois Beef Expo. We can’t say thank you enough to everything that helps us a long the way, we have a great crew and couldn’t ask for better. Isaac Taber, John Reasor, Kendall Steines, Abe Troyer, Emma Troyer, Max Troyer, Kade Knapp, Leslie Rogers and Ross Anderson Thank You for all you do.

Greiman’s Barbara 276 Angus // July 22, 2017 SIRE: DDA Gemstone 1439 // DAM: Greiman’s Barbara 100 The Greiman family raised this heifer and when I was up there looking at their heifers this fall, I was very intrigued as to what their plans were with her. This summer born is out of Greiman’s Barbara female that was Reserve Bred & Owned Female at the Angus Junior Nationals in 2011. This heifer can be competitive in her Division at the Angus Junior Nationals. High quality and good looking these are the ones that are hard to find. Remember as you go through the sale catalog the heifers are sorted by breed and age, but still this one is worthy of the Lot 1 spot.
Greiman’s Barbara 100, dam of Lot 1.
SCC BOY SCH Royal Blackbird 7912 Angus // September 12, 2017 SIRE: Plum Creek Refresh 561A DAM: SCC Royal Blackbird 502 I bought this pregnancy from Scheetz last year and thought it had a lot of potential to make a really good female. Turns out it worked really well, my only problem is I don’t want to sell her now, because I really like her. But Bailey and I are hoping to build, this spring and so she is on the sale. This heifer’s structure is incredible on both ends, good looking, and I think can compete at a high level. This is the kind I like to raise.
Plum Creek Refresh 561A, sire of Lot 2.
T/R Northern Miss Angus // October 14, 2017 SIRE: PVF Insight // DAM: Dameron Northern Miss 2144 Jake Bloomberg brought over a few heifers this year for the fall born sale. This is a product of Trent Ray’s dispersal and she’s backed by an incredible set of genetics. Her mother is a Payday out of a full sib to First Class. When she was in the picture pen she looked amazing, her presence, balance, and structure is the kind that works. Be sure to watch her video if you don’t believe me.
SCC SCH BOY Royal Blackbird 7102 Angus // October 2, 2017 SIRE: Silveria’s Style 9303 // DAM: 321 I went to Scheetz’s to look at his Fall Angus heifers and I thought this heifer had as much cow potential as any. Personally I think she can make incredible half-blood Simmenta’ls, Mainetainer’s and Chi’s. There are a lot of options a person can do with one built like this. Huge bellied, great structured, and still good looking. 321 is a First Class out of Firstand-Goals mother, she was shown by the Scheetz family and was Supreme Champion at Illinois Beef Expo. 321, dam of Lot 4.
SCC SCH BOY Royal Blackbird 7112 Angus // November 10, 2017 SIRE: Silveria’s Style 9030 // DAM: SCC Royal Blackbird 502 This is one of the younger females in the group, but not to be over looked. I had John Reasor with me the day we picked these heifers out and he wanted to buy this heifer before the sale. I know he likes this one a lot and so do I. John is one of the few that I would send to a sale and trust his opinion on buying cattle. Give this one some time and I think you will like what she looks like as a Senior Yearling.
CC Kyra Ann 7541 PLD Charolais // September 25, 2017 // ACA# F1251236 SIRE: M&M Outsider 4003PLD // DAM: Thomas MS Kyra 4541P Coudron Charolais helps out again. Kim and Zack Coudron had a really deep set of fall borns and we were fortunate enough to get these two for the sale. I am a big fan of this female and what she can do, her rib cage and structure are what you dream about making. This is a heifer that can be very competitive on a national level. The Outsider daughters have been very dominant this year in the show ring, and so far in production they are making awesome cows with incredible udders.
CC Ginger Lynn 7618 ET PLD Charolais // September 20, 2017 // ACA# F1251235 SIRE: TR Firewater 5792R ET // DAM: CC Ginger 361 PLD This is one of my brother Clayton’s favorites. I know this because every time we are out there he always talks about her, and I get it, she has what it take to be a show heifer and even better cow. This is a full sib to Blake Sweeter’s Louisville and South Dakota State Fair champion. TR Firewater 5792R, sire of Lot 7.
GHC Impressive 7508 Charolais // September 14, 2017 EF1251385 SIRE: TR Firewater 5792R ET DAM: Thomas MS Impressive 0641 What can you say other then this has been one of the most dominate matings of any breed. Jake Bloomberg picked both of these heifers up at Jerrod Arthurs and were raised by Lance Pfieph. I couldn’t have been more excited then when Jake unloaded both of the 0641’s off the trailer. These two both have what it take to make the senior yearling run at Junior Nationals. Study their pedigrees and build, there’s not much guess work. Full sib to Lot 7.
GHC Still Impressive 7509 Charolais // September 1, 2017 // EF1251386 SIRE: M&M Outsider 4003 PLD DAM: Thomas MS Impressive 0641 I like this twist to the pedigree of Outsider and 0641 and personally I think this mating can be another step in the right direction. I dig this one a lot, she is the kind I like to start off with and they just get better everyday. If we were picking teams on the playground, this one might be my first pick.
Thomas MS Impressive 0641, dam of Lot 9.
Moore’s Firegirl Charolais // November 2, 2017 SIRE: TR Firewater 5792R ET DAM: Thomas MS Impressive 0641 My brother Jake picked this heifer up from Jacob Moore in Indiana. That guy has some good stuff and the best part is they are usually sound. This Firewater again is younger but the quality is there and what she has done in two weeks of being here, I am sure this one will get the most changed award. This one has exploded.
BOY HL Bree 7112 Charolais // November 4, 2017 ACA# P1156475 SIRE: Gerrard Montezumma 6T DAM: TR MS Bree 4559B This heifer is out of Hoge’s first Charolais they showed. Her grandmother is the dam of the Fields heifer that was Reserve in Denver as a calf and also the dam of the heifer that the Mark Johnson family successfully showed. I always thought Carter’s heifer had the right kind of build and design, and the Montezuma cows have been my best producing cows so I tried her that way. I think you will like what we got. This one has big time potential. TR MS Bree 4559B, dam of Lot 11
PAW Lady Reeva 431 ET Hereford // September 24, 2017 SIRE: GO 3196 Advance S109 // DAM: BOYD Lady Shannon 4048 ET This heifer came from my neighbor Pat Wall and his family. I don’t know a lot about Hereford genetics but I do know this heifer’s structure and build is good. Again a female that has changed a lot in a short time frame, and her structure will allow you to stay competitive.
KANE Perfection 2E Mini Hereford // August 1, 2017 SIRE: KAP SR JCEL Meyer // DAM: HD Brenda Jake and his Mini Herefords; they are something else. And to be honest, I end up liking them every time. This one took a wicked picture, she was way easy because she is good looking and has the balance that is hard to find. When they are this good looking you just have to get them to stop. To be honest with her bone and power she could easily make Hereford steers.
BOY Brandi 7921 MaineTainer/ShorthornPlus September 19, 2017 SIRE: CMAC Iconic // DAM: BOY Cherri Brandi 207 This is a full sib to David Smith’s heifer that was Reserve ShorthornPlus Heifer and Division Champion MainTainer Female this Summer. Personally, I think this heifer is a touch stouter and stronger in her top line. This one could look pretty good this summer. 207 was a past Junior National Champion herself, but what makes her even better is that she made an awesome cow. Udder quality and feet are perfect in this cow family. Full sib to Lot 14.
DPH WF Buckys Dream 704E MaineTainer/Chi // October 4, 2017 SIRE: BMW Dual Threat // DAM: Bismarck x Who Da Man The Heindel’s and Wiesinger’s own this cow together. When I saw her at Grant’s this winter while getting feet trimmed, John Reasor gave her an A+ and I looked at her for two seconds and said she will work. Grant later called and asked what I thought because I didn’t say much, I told him when they are that good you don’t have to look at them very long. This one makes the short list.
CMAC Blairs Baby 705E MaineTainer // October 1, 2017 // AMAA# 488062 SIRE: Silveria’s Style 9303 // DAM: CMAC Blair 5B Raised by the Core Family, Mark and Deb have been buying and raising Maine cattle for quite sometime and this is a product of their dedication to the breed. Style x I-80 has been a very popular mating in the Maine breed and it has worked. Here is a moderate, stout, bold ribbed heifer that has the potential to show very competitively.
JBOY Tammy 7902 SimSolution // September 2, 2017 SIRE: LLSF Pays to Believe ZU194 // DAM: Tammy My brother Jake told me before they brought the heifers out he is sending maybe one of the best heifers he has ever raised. When this one jumped off the trailer I asked Clayton if 792 was the one Jake was talking about. This heifer has senior yearling written all over her. I have never seen a heifer that long, that sound, and still has the balance to make a run in the show ring. Short list here, we think a lot of this one and her mother will die on the farm. Maternal sib to Lot 17.
JBOY Tammy 7912 SimSolution // September 12, 2017 SIRE: LLSF Pays to Believe ZU194 // DAM: Tammy Now once we got this one clipped I quickly realized right out the gate this one can win a lot and with good management she is still incredible as a bred. She is not far off trust me, both Ross and Jake like her better, so we will need your help in deciding because I am not smart enough to figure it out. I just know I like them both. These two heifers are full sibs to Pryor’s heifer and half sibs to Hoge’s broker female that did a lot of winning.
Full sib to Lot 18.
Tammy, dam of Lot 17 & 18.

PB Simmental // September 25, 2017 SIRE: WS Revival // DAM: HSF/HS Kayla Y125 Mark and Deb made a trip and went to Ed Vests to look at Simmentals, he puts together a really nice set of females every year. This heifer has really neat pieces and has what it takes to be a competitor in a PB show. I think she has a little extra look and presence than most.
VLF/DNC Cheryl 69E PB Simmental // September 27, 2017 // ASA# 3365416 SIRE: LLSF/VLF Reactor A40 // DAM: DNC Z281 I am a fan of this heifer also from Ed Vest and I think of the pair, she is my kind. Feet and legs are perfect, body shape is right, and she is the kind that can make you money in return. Her sire is also the sire of our high selling bred heifer raised by Ed that went to Tim Heckman.
