Dreyer's dreamlike film now stands a unique masterpiece, but at the time of its release, it was a flop and nearly put an end to Dreyer's career. ’Vampyr’ was an expensive and at the same time radically experimental picture, produced outside the commercial film companies: A sound film that tried to maintain the silent film's expressive possibilities and international appeal. Combining operetta, comedy and vaudeville this musical is a gem of Danish cinema. Unable to finish his operetta, a composer summons Greek mythology’s muse of song to help him. An ensemble story set in the1940s Copenhagen. It combines a gentle and poetic realism with humor. Poul Reichhardt is the empathetic soldier and Bodil Kjer the young woman Jenny, who is prosecuted for illegal abortion. ’Sexual Fantasies’ is the third instalment in the Zodiac series, which took the sex comedies to a new level combining comedy with hardcore sex. In the 1930s, two competing record companies fight to sign the lovely Dolores del Rio.
