07928 582629 devis@takoarchitects.com issuu.com/devistako www.takoarchitects.com Profile Having done my final year of BA Architecture, I am looking for a role as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, with this opportunity to demonstrate my dedicated work ethic and range of skills. I have grown my design skills in both hand and software mediums, with a focus on using Revit and developing psychical models to effectively communicate ideas. During the course, I have enjoyed design grounded in reality projects with abstract forms through experimentation and then reasoning these forms into practical structures that suit both program and site. Outside the university, I have also looked to apply my architectural skills and knowledge to small-scale projects to learn how they can apply to a professional capacity. Aside from my studies at university I have been working in the hospitality business at the senior level covering a wide range of responsibilities that have given me valuable experience working in a professional environment as working as a part of a team. Flat Iron Theatre is a response to the post pandemic working landscape. The project seeks to provide a new theatre complex that will harbour human engagement and social interaction by creating a new working environment that becomes the hub of the community. The project is located on the London Lowline, a walking route in South London that tracks the paths of a series of Victorian viaducts that weave through Southwark. The building aims to reconnect the missing links in the route by rethinking an existing meanwhile space at Flat Iron Square. The existing program of food outlets and shops are brought into the undercroft of the building to serve as a concourse for the theatre above. The main space of the building is a formal theatre that focuses on supporting young artists’ development, training, and the creation of new works. The rooftop contains an open-air theatre that will be given back to the city and local community for their use and operation with the trainline acting as a backdrop to each performance. The building is constructed from waste timber and materials from residential housing extensions, conversion and renovations. The material is reformed into columns, building components and furniture that are locked together with 3D printed brackets to create a rich texture of material and finishes throughout the building that could be dismantled and reused elsewhere in the future.

This project is build upon the history of Greenwich as a Centre for Global telecommunications in 1850 and close observation of the site. The proposition it’s a factory for making sub sea cable trees by using the damaged, old subsea cables that historically used to transport data communication in the opposite way to block electromagnetic signal and creating a Faraday cage. There are public viewing platform, where data signals are blocked but key views and seating areas are designed to encourage social interaction.
