EASY SPRING ROLL RECIPE FOR KIDS Chinese vegetable spring rolls are mainly used as a well-liked starter or snack. Spring rolls are crispy from outer, with a flavored sautéed veggie filling from inside. The vegetables are stuffed with spring roll wrapper and then deep fried in oil. The rolls should be sealed properly to avoid breaking at the time of frying.
PREPARATION TIME – 15 MINUTES COOKING TIME - 30 MINUTES SERVE AS – 6 PERSONS
INGREDIENTS 12 readymade spring roll wrappers 3 tbsp plain flour mixed with 1/4 cup of water Oil for deep-frying
INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING
1/2 cup chopped spring onion whites 1 & 1/2 cups mixed veggies like French beans, carrots and cabbage cut into fine strips 3/4 cup bean sprouts 1/2 cup boiled hakka noodles, cut into 1" pieces 2 tsp soya sauce 1/2 cup chopped spring onion greens 1 tbsp oil salt to taste
FOR THE STUFFING
Heat the oil in a wok over a high flame. Add the spring onion whites, mixed veggies, bean sprouts and stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the noodles, soya sauce and salt and cook for 2 minutes more. Chill and put aside. Switch off the flame, add the spring onion greens and mix properly.
INSTRUCTIONS Place one spring roll wrapper on a dry surface and spoon a little of the stuffing mixture on one end of the wrapper. Roll the spring roll wrapper firmly, seal the ends properly by applying the flour paste. Do the same process with the leftover ingredients to produce 11 more spring rolls. Deep fry in hot oil until they turn into golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Slice each roll at an angle into two and serve hot with chilli garlic sauce.
