Cameron DuBois Staley was born on April 9, 2003 to Christina Gabrielle Staley in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Cameron accepted the Lord as his personal Savior when he was just a boy. He was baptized and discipled at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Norristown, Pennsylvania, where Rev. Byron Craig is the pastor. The two of them were good friends. Cameron loved the Lord! When he was younger you could often find him walking about the house humming praise and worship songs to himself. Cameron’s heart was extremely sensitive to God’s presence and spiritual things. “Cam” as he was effectionately known, was educated in both the Philadelphia and Delaware County Public School Systems. He was very much looking forward and working hard to graduate from Penn Wood High School in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. He expected to receive his diploma in June 2021. Cam was an extremely bright young man and excelled in computers and coding, an interest that was cultivated by his grandfather. If you needed help with any type of technology, Cam was your man. Cam had a heart of gold. He was the epitome of unconditional love. Despite ups and down and even some challenging relationships, Cam never stopped loving his family. He was committed to loving and honoring his mother, as well as looking out for his brothers and sisters. Cam would always make sure that whatever he had, you had it as well. Cam LOVED his grandparents, whom he lovingly referred to as “Pop Pop” and “Nana”! He had an unbreakable bond with his Pop Pop and treasured his Nana. Cam’s ability to love was his light! Even in his passing, he taught us to go back and make things right. No matter what happened, he made it his purpose to continue to show love and forgiveness. Cam was a hard worker. He was extremely industrious and determined to establish himself. He was good at landscaping and helped his grandparents with the seasons of snow and leaves. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. No job was too big, too small or insignificant. After months of trying, Cam was super excited to join the Rydal Nursing Home as a dietary aide; once again helping and serving others. In his short time of employment there, Cam had become well liked among his peers and supervisor team. Cam was on a journey. Despite life’s challenges, he remained committed to discovering God’s ultimate purpose for his life. Anyone that knew Cam knew that he was known for his mouth; whether it was a sly remark, a joke or “Just being all in the business”. He was often laughing at you or with you whether you liked it or not. His Nana would say, “Boy your mouth is gonna get you in trouble!” Because of his smile, he was affectionately known to his mother as “Guy Smiley”. Even in his last hours, Cam’s care team mentioned as we browsed through photos, that Cam illuminated a special light. A light that we as his family are committed to carrying on. Cam’s legacy will live on through his mother, Christina, his brothers Tyler, Saleen, Kahlif and Romello; two sisters Protege Amirah and Kimora; niece Mylasia and two nephews Tahjir and Tyquan. Also carrying his light are his Pop Pop and Nana, Kenneth and Sheila, Aunt T, and Uncle Harrison. In addition, his loving and caring village that will miss him greatly.
