Precio us Memories

IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS AND A HEAVY HEART that I speak of the passing of our beloved District Missionary of Grace 5 Virginia Jurisdiction, Missionary Dolores Carter. Missionary Carter was my close friend for over 20 years and my personal adjutant for the past 15 years. She was there for me whenever I needed her. Her kind words, her smile, and her helpful ways were more than the average person would give. She was honest and trustworthy. She was a prayer warrior and she loved God and God’s people. Dolores presented excellence in every way. We traveled together on countless occasions for many years when no one else was available to go. We traveled to South Korea, Japan, Las Vegas, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Georgia, and many other states just to name a few. Dolores always traveled with me on speaking engagements whether in town or out of town. Just this month (June), we had planned to go on an Alaskan Cruise and had much fun with the preparation of it, but God had other plans for her. Dolores and I shared many good times together such as going out to dinner every week, and returning to my house for Korean Coffee with other friends; going shopping even if we did not purchase merchandise we just enjoyed being out in the mall. This was our pass time, and also planning for our next trip. I could have never fathomed that this day would come where we would be apart eternally. My family loved Dolores as if she was a blood relative. “Aunt Joyce” is what she was known as by my family. She spent all of her holidays with us as it was to be expected by the family. I will always treasure the times we spent together. I have so many good memories that I could share, however, I am so saddened and heart broken by her transition. I have lost a true friend that I considered my blood sister, but I know that she will not suffer any longer and that God doesn’t make mistakes. I would just like to hold the good memories of her close in my heart. When a person becomes a memory, and those memories are good ones, I just want to hold them close and never forget the good times. There are not enough words to express how I feel about losing my dear sister-friend. She will truly be missed, but I know in days to come God will comfort and strengthen my family and I to go on knowing that He has completely healed her from all of her pain. I will miss her keeping me together as well as telling me my hats were too big. No one else could say that to me but “Aunt Joyce”. I will forever be grateful for having her in my life. Sleep on my sister, take your rest until we meet again.

Some people journey through life, They leave footprints wherever they go Footprints of kindness and love, Courage and Compassion, Humor and Inspiration, Joy and faith…

When I got the call that you got your wings I wanted to cry but I knew that heaven had gained a precious gem. My Memories of you will be cherished photographs in my heart. I will miss all of our work/drive conversations, after work meet ups for crab-cakes, being my traveling notary, going to jewelry shows, and our strategic vendor shopping. Kendall and Savannah will miss getting their package of ruffled socks after every national church meeting from “Auntie Dee” the “Sock Auntie.” Who’s going to be my partner in crime now? Thank you for always being a supportive confidant and prayer partner, and loving me, and my family. You supported so many and You had a way of making EVERYBODY feel like they were the FAVORITE! You loved dearly, You left suddenly but I know that you are resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father and I accept His decision. Until we meet again, You will forever be in my heart. Love,

Angela
