What’s happening Now at Northpark?

2011 HOA Board Meeting, Tuesday, January, 25th, 2011, 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse Community Services; office will be closed for the Martin Luther King’s holiday on Saturday, 1-15-2011.

Office will be open for normal business hours on Tuesday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m.

School is back in session, please be reminded to drive safely and watch out for children crossing the street into Hicks Canyon Elementary school. Parents when dropping off your children along Forest Glen, please make sure to drop them off at the curb side and not in the street. Please have children use one of the new cross walks when crossing Forest Glen to the school-yard gate. This gate was installed with our NP parents and students in mind. While it is a convenience it can become a nuisance for residents that do not have children attending the school. Your cooperation is of the utmost importance in maintaining this school access gate. Residents must follow the rules of the road or it could be removed by the association if unsafe activities are noted by the IRVPD. Tiny Tots; January you can meet the first Friday of each month from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the second Friday of each month 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Story time and sing along.

Northpark Annual Spring Garage Sale; Mark your calendars and start cleaning out your closets for our Annual Spring Garage Sale on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 from 7:00a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Please register your address with the Community Services Office by email at northpark@crummackhuseby.com Last day to register will be Friday, March 4th to get a “Garage Sale” sign for posting on your property. Signs will be posted at each street registered but individual signs will be able to be picked up by the resident once registered.

Families Forward Food Drive; NP Residents last year donated over 600 pounds of canned food items which helped many South Orange County families in need. This year we hope to increase that amount and with your help it will be possible. A special thank you to the Chang family, Austin, Arielle, Derek and Lauren for coordinating all of the collections. Drop off containers will be available at each of the gate entrances for residents to drop off non perishable food items. During the week of March 18th thru Saturday, March 26th.

Spring Boutique; Residents are you interested in participating as a Northpark Vendor for a “NP Spring Boutique” at the Clubhouse? Date will be Saturday, April 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Interest list now forming for this event. Please email the community service office by February 4th with your name, address and product or service you will be selling. Email; northpark@crummackhuseby.com Please be reminded that transponders are NOT transferable from one vehicle to another. To activate new transponders please email; northpark@crummackhuseby.com.

Transponders may be purchased at the Community Services office, please make checks payable to Northpark Maintenance Association. Visa and MasterCard’s are accepted however an additional $4.00 convenience fee is charged. NO CASH, checks or debit/credit cards only.

Renting your NP property? Please inform the Community Services office so a separate Quickpass account can be set up for the new tenant to allow them gate access and guest management services. Please email the office at; northpark@crummackhuseby.com with street address and new tenant information.

Vehicle Transponder Update: The 2011 Transponders look a little different. The newer version is a little larger than the prior one (see photo, top is the 2010 model and bottom picture is the new transponder) the antenna signal is stronger so we are hoping for less reading issues. The earlier versions will continue to work as long as they are attached to the vehicles windshield. Currently transponders are on backorder. If needed, please pre reserve one with the office, expected delivery is the first week in February.

Getting ready to purchase a new vehicle? Please be reminded that transponder stickers are NOT transferable from one vehicle to another.

Do NOT try to attach the old transponder to your new vehicle. This could cause damage to your new vehicle since the gate arm mechanism will not receive a clear signal. If you are purchasing a new vehicle and have a old transponder please remove from old vehicle and bring in with your new vehicle to the Community Services office to activate a new transponder. Replacement cost is $25.00 when you turn in the old, additional transponders are $35.00 each. Personal checks and Credit cards are the only form of payment received; please note a convenience fee of $4.00 is charged for credit card transactions. Northpark POOL Parties

Reservations Required.

To reserve one of the Northpark pools or parks for a party, please complete reservation request form on page 3 of this newsletter. Please submit your reservation request at least 2 weeks prior to your party. To allow coordination of pool parties and avoid over bookings. Reservations are not exclusive, pools and parks are open to all NP residents. Requests must be in writing, no phone requests accepted. Please email; northpark@crummackhuseby.com

The Northpark Riptide Swim Team: The Riptide Northpark swim team begins its 8th season of fun, competing in the recreational Irvine Swim League. The team accepts Northpark resident kids from ages 5 through 18. Swimmers learn to swim backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and freestyle at practices held at the Forest Glen Pool. There are 120 spots on the team available, and the team has been full in the past. For registration dates, check out the Registration tab and the Calendar tab at the Riptide website www.npst.net

Calling the Gates: Due to high traffic activity and phone calls, please do not call the Central Park Gate house for guest admittance during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., please call either the Portola Gate or the Meadowood Gate. The Central Park Gate house is a 24 hour gate, all phone calls received during these hours are rerouted to the Portola Gate to be answered in a timely manner. The BMP’s identify measures and practices first controlling runoff from the community into adjacent areas and storm drains that ultimately drain into the Pacific Ocean. Some of these practices include making sure homeowners’ landscape irrigation systems are adjusted properly to apply the proper volume of water to avoid excess runoff, not disposing of motor oil, paint products or detergents into the streets and ultimately the storm drains. Compliance by residents is important for several reasons. First, violation of these practices may subject the resident to penalties not only from the Association, but also from any public agency that has the right to monitor and enforce compliance. Second, violation of these practices may result in the imposition of more stringent maintenance requirements on the association, which could cause increases in monthly homeowner assessments.
