Diane de Poitiers was the favorite of Henri II, King of France. She becomes his mistress in 1538 and this one offers her the Castle of Chenonceau. When the King is lethally damaged in 1559, Catherine de Medicis forbids any visit to Diane and obliges her to exchange the Castle of Chenonceau with the one of Chaumont.
