Rebranding of Six Flags

Objective Choose a defunct or a dying brand and redesign its identity to fit a future vision. The main goal is to create a fresh visual identity which follows the brand soul and helps the brand to turn over a new leaf for its new vision.

Approach The brand I chose was Six Flags. Today, Six Flags has dedicated itself to setting the standard for theme park entertainment. Six Flags not only focuses on offering more fun to the world, but also benefits every family environmentally and socially; physically and emotionally; educationally and recreationally. 5

I made 3 books to show the progress of my exploration for the soul of the Six Flags. And the books also contain color, type system and graphic style for the new Six Flags.

Choice Diane Tang

As Six Flags aims to offer more family fun, the typeface of the logotype should be fun and playful. We choose Gotham Round as the basic shape of the logotype.

8

60° Some letters should overlap ped with others to connect each other.

To make sure the symbol and the word mark consistent, the sharp corner should be round.

Approach A service to help art students and designers and artists to get critique and advice from professional designers face to face. As graphic designers, we should help them to have courage to show their work to others to get professional critique. I made a website and an app which offering designers more chances to get critique.

CHOOSE TO BALANCE KNOW YOUR

Type Experiments/ Website Design

Objective In this project we were asked to create a website about an opinion with a strong personal and conceptual context. I need to conduct extensive research, writing, image creation as well as design. I will need to further explore blending image and type. We need to pick a topic that we’re particularly drawn to, that we find interesting or that we’d love to investigate. Approach The Topic I chose is financial problems which young people are facing to. The whole website follows my design using typography, images, motions, and videos to lead the audience through the different attitude of young people to the money issue. I chose Factoria Black and Addelle Light as my typeface.
