Your Joint Base Outdoor Recreation Centers have everything you’ll need for fun in the great outdoors!

JB Charleston Outdoor Recreation Centers rent a variety of quality outdoor equipment to help you, your friends and family get out and enjoy the Lowcountry’s splendid natural resources.

OAC Rock Climbing Wall Nothing offers stress relief quite like exercise, and one of the most fun and exciting ways to get a total body workout here on the Weapons Station, is at the Outdoor Adventure Center’s climbing wall. The climbing wall stands 30 ft. high and offers many different climbing routes with varying degrees of difficulty. Whether you are a beginner or an experience climber, the OAC has a climbing program to suit you. Beginning climbers are encouraged to stop by the OAC anytime during operating hours. No appointment is necessary. Our experienced climbing instructors will provide you with climbing instruction, equipment, and everything you will need to get your climbing adventure started. Beginning climbers will be harnessed by the instructor and climbing will be supervised at all times. The cost of the introductory climb is only $2. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll want to purchase an hourly climbing pass or a daily pass. This will allow you to climb as many times as you wish in the allotted time frame and to experiment with all the climbing routes. More experienced climbers will want to take advantage of our Auto Belay Certification Program, which allows qualified applicants to hook and unhook themselves from the harness without assistance. This gives climbers the freedom to climb without having to wait for the availability of a climbing instructor. Simply, check in at the front desk, and up you go!

Military Climb for half-price on Tuesdays Attention Active Duty Military! Tuesdays are “Half-Price Tuesdays” at the OAC Climbing Wall where Active Duty Military climb for only $2 per hour instead of the regular $4 rate!

Everyone climbs for half-price March-April at OAC During the Outdoor Adventure Center’s “Spring Off the Wall” promotion beginning March 1, everyone can enjoy the challenge of climbing our 30 ft. rock wall for the low rate of $2 per hour. When you also include the free shoe rental, that’s a $5.50 value for only 2 bucks! In addition, all climbers will be entered into a weekly drawing to win a 10-climb punch card, another $30 value! Hurry! The promotion ends April 30. Call 764-2120.
