Jr. Members eat free April 4 The Club hosts a “1st Thursday Family Night” for its Members every month. This month’s program is April 4. The fun starts at 5 p.m. Members are invited to bring the family for a pizza and spaghetti dinner. Cost is only $5.50 for adults and youth 12 years old and younger eat at no charge. RSVP not required.
Admin Professional’s Day Administrative Professional’s Day is April 24. If you’re a JB Charleston professional administrator, that’s right all of you wonderful hardworking A3s, stop by the Club office April 15-23 and pick up a discount coupon for $2 off your lunch buffet meal on April 24. The coupon must be presented at the time of purchase. Coupons will not be available on April 24 in the office or at the register.
What’s for Lunch? We feature a deliciously different lunch Tuesday-Friday in the main dining room. A sample of the buffets include barbecue on Wednesdays, Italian on Thursdays, along with a bountiful seafood buffet every Friday. Serving times are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Big Bucks Bingo We play Big Bucks Bingo every Wednesday! Total nightly payout over $1,600 not including two progressive jackpots with $1,000 minimum payouts. Warm-up/Early Bird games start at 6:15 p.m. There is a Special Monday night edition on April 1.

CHAMPIONSHIP April 20
The annual Redbank Plantation Individual Match Play Championship is scheduled to begin, Saturday, April 20. This tournament will take place over several rounds. Players will be paired for the first round of competition and then opponents will be determined by the use of a standard tournament ladder. Players will then coordinate future rounds and tee times with their upcoming opponent. There will be both Junior and Senior divisions and handicaps will apply. Players without handicaps will be assigned one that day. Registration on April 20 will be at 8 am. Tee off will be at 8:30 am. The cost is $10 plus cart and greens fee.

Golf Lessons from a Former PGA Pro! April 6 & 13 Former PGA Tour professional, Randy Glover offers a rare opportunity to “learn from a pro” as you are introduced to the basics of the game or fine tune your established skills. Saturday, April 6 & 13 from 3:30-5:30 pm, you’ll participate in 2-hour sessions of instruction on irons, woods, chipping, putting, and sand play. All of this will be offered for only $50 per person for both 2-hour sessions! In addition, upon completion of the instruction, each participant will receive a free round of golf valued at $25! This is a deal you don’t want to pass up! Classes are limited to 8 in each group. If you have a group that would like to take lessons, but these scheduled time don’t suit you, call the golf course at 764-7802 and special arrangements can be made.

Folly Island Bicycle Trek April 20 Bike with us as we view coastal marshes and waterways, and finish up in downtown Folly Beach. Use your own bike or check one out from the ORC. Cost is just $15 per person. Advance registration required.

Boat orientation classes April 9 & 23 This one-hour class is required in order to checkout ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5 per person. Before attending class, boaters must take free on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation class.
Learn to shoot skeet & trap April 20 This is a two-hour lesson at the Air Base Skeet and Trap Shoot Range. Cost: $25 per lesson. Includes general information and weapons safety, along with the use of a shotgun, ammo and two rounds of shooting. Advance registration needed.

Local Kayak Adventure Trip May 11 Paddle along some of the most breathtaking scenery in the southeast on this kayak adventure. Stand-up paddleboard classes May 21 & June 6 Learn the basics from entering and exiting the water to basic strokes, caring for boards and much more. This class is required to checkout stand-up paddle boards from the ORC. Rock climbing goes mobile The Outdoor Recreation Center has a mobile climbing wall great for any event or outdoor activity. Prices include transporting the wall, set-up and breakdown, all necessary climbing equipment, plus staff climbing technicians. Call for more information.
Become certified in just two weekends! Class & pool, May 17-19 Certification trip, June 1-2 The price per student is $495*. This includes all instruction and classroom materials, pool usage, all dive gear except mask, fins, snorkel, booties and dive bag. Liberty takes you to Walterboro Airpark on Saturday, April 13 for tandem skydiving! The cost is $155 for a tandem jump which includes instruction and everything you’ll need to take the plunge. While enduring the challenge of a 5K run through WS housing, you will act as a blank canvas as you pass through color stations where our official powdered paint artists will transform you into an art masterpiece! Be sure to wear white or light colored clothing for optimal effect. The run will begin at 8 am, Saturday, May 18 on Fletcher Street next to the tennis courts and NEX MiniMart. Instruction starts May 1 with players learning rules, etiquette, golf terms, proper swing techniques and how to play the course. No equipment is necessary and instruction is free. Youth summer camp Registration for the Air Base’s youth summer camp begins April 8. Camp is open to ages 5-14. The program offers full- and part-day camps, depending on the child’s age. WS Library Library mo moves ves back home The Weapons Station Library is currently in the process of moving back to its original location at 2316 Redbank Road. Its temporary location on Pulaski Parkway and the original location on Redbank Road are closed during the move.
