Redbank Plantation Golf Course Get the “Golf Experience” with group lessons from a former PGA pro! Former PGA Tour professional, Randy Glover offers a rare opportunity to “learn for a pro” as you are introduced to the basics of the game or to fine tune your established skills. Hunting & Fishing Licenses & Permits At Joint Base Charleston-Weapons Station, our forests, abundant with deer and wild turkey and our rivers teeming with fish, make us a sportsman’s paradise. The knowledgeable staff at the OAC will help maximize hunting and fishing oportunities for Sailors and Airmen, family members, DOD civilians and guests. If you intend to hunt or fish on the Weapons Station, South Carolina licenses and Weapons Station permits are required and are available for purchase at your Outdoor Adventure Center. Hunting & Fishing licenses and permits must be renewed in June each year.
Outdoor Equipment Rental Your Outdoor Adventure Center has everything you’ll need to enjoy the great outdoors! Tents that will accommodate from one to five people, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cots, lanterns, two-burner stoves, backpacks, and lots more are available for a nominal fee. Kayaks, canoes, campers, and mountain bikes are also available to help make your weekend get-away complete. Planning a picnic? Your OAC has grills, ice chests and coolers, canopies, picnic party equipment and sports equipment. The OAC is located on Fletcher St., near Marrington Bowling Center. Call or stop by today!

Marrington Plantation Picnic Area Marrington Plantation is a 1,000 acre recreation area on JB Charleston Weapons Station offering a variety of outdoor activities. Located within the grounds are beautiful hiking and biking trails, hunting and fishing areas, a boat landing, a wildlife viewing tower, just to name a few. All Active Duty Military and families have access to these areas. All other eligible patrons are required to apply for a Recreational Badge before accessing these areas. There is a $10 application fee for Recreation Badges. Hunting and fishing require additional licenses and permits.

Myrtle Beach & Casino Cruise Liberty takes you on an overnight trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for sand, sun and fun! Relax on the beach, explore the old-school arcades at the Boardwalk, shop Broadway at the Beach, or win big on the Casino Cruise! Our van will depart from the OAC parking lot at on Saturday, April 21 at 8 a.m. And will return Sunday, April 22 by 6 p.m. The cost is $45.10 for the Myrtle Beach trip (only) or $70.10 for the Mrtyle Beach trip and Casino Cruise ticket, which includes a dinner buffet! Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Because it’s the thrill of a lifetime! Liberty offers skydiving trips to Walterboro Airpark on the first Saturday of each month, April-September. Registrations are due the Monday prior to each trip date. The cost is $157 for a tandem jump which includes instruction and everything you’ll need to take the plunge. The van departs from the OAC parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Participants must be 18 years of age and can’t weigh more than 220 lbs. Next trip: Saturday, April 7

Moultrie and Isle of Palms on April 5, 8:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., is for recently arrived military and their family members. Lunch will be on your own. VA workshop for disability compensation claims At these workshops on April 6, 13 or 27, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., a VA representative covers the entire claims process and what it takes to file. This workshop will tackle issues such as common complaints from adults and kids, stages of adjustment, and characteristics of a successfully blended family. It will also cover household rules and discipline, setting new traditions, and things to do and not to do. Ready, Set, Parent! This course on April 12, 5:30-8:30 p.m., provides useful tips for new parents while helping them understand the importance of budgeting for their new “addition.” Attendees receive a free “bundle” for each expectant child. Transition Assistance Program (TAP) workshop Learn how to transition from the military to civilian life with ease at this workshop April 17-20.
