We have the resources to make it a ‘smooth move’ Relocating to another base can be stressful especially if you aren't familiar with existing resources and benefits. At Joint Base Charleston, staff members at the Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) and Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) are prepared to help relocating members through their next relocation. For the convenience of those relocating, both centers offer a monthly workshop where agencies such as TRICARE and Personnel come together to provide information and answer questions about relocating. The FFSC holds a Smooth Move workshop the third Thursday of each month while the A&FRC (in conjunction with Military
Personnel), holds a mandatory PCS Prep workshop the first and third Friday of each month. In addition to the Centers' workshops, there are also on-line resources such as Military One Source. By logging onto www.militaryonesource.com, the relocating member can perform an installation search for their next duty station. Once there, they will find information on just about anything from local schools to temporary housing. Also be sure to check out Facebook/JbcharlestonFFSC for current flyers and brochures. Let us help take the guess-work out of your next move. Stop by or call the FFSC at 843-794-7480 or the A&FRC at 843-963-4406 and discover what they have to offer to make sure you have a “smooth move.”
