$25,000 in scholarships available Applications for the 2013 Air Force Clubs Scholarship Program are now being accepted. Current Club Members or their family members who have been accepted by or enrolled in an accredited college or university for entry during the fall term may apply. Big Bucks Bingo We play Big Bucks Bingo every Wednesday! Total nightly payout over $1,600 not including two progressive jackpots with $1,000 minimum payouts. Warm-up/Early Bird games start at 6:15 p.m. There is a Special Monday night edition on June 3.

The Club hosts a “1st Thursday Family Night” for its Members every month. This month’s program is June 6. We feature a deliciously different lunch Tuesday-Friday in the main dining room. A sample of the buffets include barbecue on Wednesdays, Italian on Thursdays, along with a bountiful seafood buffet every Friday. Serving times are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Stand-up paddle board classes Learn the basics from entering and exiting the water to basic strokes, caring for boards and much more. This class is required to checkout stand-up paddle boards from the ORC. Cost per student is $45*, which includes one free weekend board rental. *RecOn price for active duty and immediate family members is only $5. Pay at the ORC then head to the Air Base Pool for your lesson.
Base Pool now open The Air Base Pool is now open through Aug. 18. Daily admission is $2.50. Individual and family seasonal passes are available at the Outdoor Recreation Center. Individual passes are $30 and a family pass for up to four members is $50. Admission is free for active duty E1-E4 and children ages 2 and under. Registration for group and private swim lessons is now underway. Check with the Outdoor Recreation Center for times and prices for both types of lessons. Liberty takes you to Walterboro Airpark on Saturday, June 1 for tandem skydiving! The cost is $155 for a tandem jump which includes instruction and everything you’ll need to take the plunge. The van departs from the OAC parking lot at 7 a.m. Participants must be 18 years of age and can’t weigh more than 220 lbs. A $20 non-refundable deposit is required.

June 29 The JB Charleston Keystone Club on the Air Base will take part in a community service project June 29, preparing meals at the Palmetto House from 5 to 8 p.m. This project is open to teens ages 14-18. Transportation will be provided and interested teens must register at the Youth Center no later than June 21. Stop by the Center or call 963-5684 for additional information.
Grant Gr ant funds available available tto o students students Air Force family members in grades 9-12 can earn up to $1,000 in grant money by taking part in the Youth Employment Skills program. This program is an on-base youth volunteer activity funded by the Air Force Aid Society and jointly administered by AFAS and the Airman and Family Services Flight. Students “bank” volunteer dollar credits toward post-secondary education or training at a rate of $4 per hour volunteered. They may accumulate as many as 250 hours, for a potential $1,000 maximum.
