We play Big Bucks Bingo every Monday and Wednesday! Both nights have total nightly payouts of more than $1,600 not including two progressive jackpots with $1,000 minimum payouts. Warm-ups/ Early Bird games start at 6 p.m.

Boat safari to Bulls Bay Island July 27 & 29, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Join us on a boat safari to Bulls Bay Island. This remote barrier island is a paradise of wildlife, marshes, brackish waters and some of the most pristine, unspoiled ocean beaches on the East Coast. Wonderful shell collecting opportunities. Jet ski safari
July 12 This is one of our most popular spring excursions. Join us as we discover the Barrier Islands with a experienced tour guide along with a wonderfully scenic stopover on Capers Island. Trip leaves the ORC promptly at 9:15 a.m. Once we get underway, the tour is approximately 90 minutes in length along a 30-mile route. Jet ski experience helpful, but not necessary. Cost: $179 per person. RecOn price: $30 per person. (The RecOn price is available to active duty and their family members.) Advance reservations needed. Call or stop by for more details.

We have a great way for your office, group or organization to get together outdoors and just have a fun day on the river. These group trips can be with canoes, kayaks or a combination of both. The rates start at $40 per person, which includes all equipment, transportation and qualified guides. Trips can be booked for any day of the week. Due to the availability of equipment on a requested date, it may be necessary to limit the size of the group. (A good reason to book as early as possible.) For more details stop by or call 963-1732.

July 19 Take a scenic one-hour walking trail ride around historic Middleton Plantation. Encounter marsh birds, eagles, deer and maybe catch a glimpse of some napping alligators. Learn to scuba dive
Boat orientation class
July 7 & 21 These one-hour orientation classes are required in order to checkout motor-driven ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5. Before attending class, boater must take a free on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation class.

July Liberty & Single Airman Initiative Programs Discover SCUBA - July 9. Air Base swimming pool. Learn the basics of SCUBA diving and practice your skills in the pool. $10. Leaves the Bowman Center at 4:30 p.m. Airmen meet at the swimming pool at 5 p.m. Should end around 8 p.m. Gymnastics - July 10. Summerville. Congressional Awards
Young Americans ages 13½ to 23 are invited to challenge themselves to set, plan and achieve goals in four program areas: • Volunteer/public service • Personal development • Physical Fitness • Expedition/ exploration activities. Participants will be recognized with bronze and silver medals at local, city or state ceremonies. Gold medals will be presented at a medals ceremony held annually in Washington, D.C., at the Capitol building. For more details, contact the Air Base or Weapons Station youth centers.
Donations needed for “Teen Swag Bags”
As part of our National Keystone Project, Air Base Youth Program teens are collecting items to put in “Teen Swag Bags” that will be donated to disadvantaged youth and teens. Collection items for July include travelsize toiletries and school supplies. School supplies will also be needed in August to stuff bags, with fall and winter holiday items being accepted starting in October. Calling all strikers, sweepers and keepers Soccer registration is now available at both youth centers for the upcoming season. Depending on the age group, there are three youth programs. The Start Smart Soccer program is for 4 year olds and the cost is $25. Soccer league play for ages 5-10 is $45. Special “SoccerShots� instruction and play for 3 year old is $45. Children of military members attend schools in the surrounding Charleston, Dorchester II and Berkeley County School Districts. The districts provide a full range of educational programs, i.e., vocational and technical training, traditional academic programs, athletics, classes for gifted students and students with special needs. There is also a wide array of magnet, charter, virtual, and private schools options available in the area. School starts in mid-August and ends early June for most schools. All three of our local school districts were rated excellent in 2014-2015. According to state law, students must attend assigned schools within their district of residence.
