GuardStart Program July 6-20 & August 6-10 GuardStart is an American Red Cross program for youth, ages 11-14 that provides a foundation of aquatics for future successful completion of the Red Cross Lifeguarding Course. Cost is $85.

Adult Lap Swim Monday-Friday: 5:30-7:30 a.m. & 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Lanes are reserved for Adult Lap Swim MondayFriday from 5:30-7:30 a.m. And 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free to all eligible patrons for lap swim during the designated times.

Recreational Swim New Wave Aquatic Center is open for recreational swimming: Monday-Friday from 12-8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 12-6 p.m.

CPR Training July 11, 13 & 23 Beginner rescuers learn adult, child and infant CPR with AED. Classes are offered from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $30.

Water Fitness Classes Mondays & Wednesdays: 7-8 p.m. Looking for a fun, low impact way to get fit this summer? You’ll love the Aqua Zumba water fitness! Scuba class Begins July 13 This is a beginner’s open water course. All equipment, except mask, fins, snorkel and booties, are provided. Certification trip on July 21-22 included in the $495 per person cost for the class. Advance registration a must.

Wakeboard thrills July 31 & Aug. 28 This is four hours of wakeboard and kneeboard thrills using the CableBahn system. Cost is $90 per person. Advance sign up is needed.

Learn to surf July 8 Super beginner’s program. Must be at least 16 years old and have basic swimming skills. Cost is $40 per student. Class size is limited.

3D Archery Shoots July 25 & Aug. 29 These shoots are for all ages and skill levels, and just for the fun of it. Sign up deadline is one week prior to each shoot. Entry fee is only $5.

Renaissance Day July 15 This fascinating day of adventure at Myrtle Beach begins in the layers of MagicQuest, getting an interactive action crash course in wizard skills, then battling goblins and dragons. Then it’s off to Medieval Times Theater for a live, two-hour renaissance experience that includes joustling tournaments on horseback while you watch and feast on a meal fit for a king. Cost is $145 per person. Advance reservations required.

Tandem Skydiving July 7 Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Because it’s the thrill of a lifetime! Liberty offers skydiving trips to Walterboro Airpark on the first Saturday of each month through September. Registrations are due the Monday prior to each trip date. The cost is $157 for a tandem jump which includes instruction and everything you’ll need to take the plunge. The van departs from the OAC parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Participants must be 18 years of age and can’t weigh more than 220 lbs.
