Sept. 9 & 23 This one-hour class is required in order to checkout motor-driven ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5. Before attending class, boater must take a free on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation class.

September Liberty & Single Airman Initiative Programs Jekyll Island Escape - Sept. 5-7. Spend the weekend on an amazing island in southern Georgia, exploring the beach and trails. Price includes transportation, two nights in a beach cottage, shrimp boat cruise, carriage ride, horseback riding on the beach and four meals. On Tuesdays at 10 a.m., we have various activities including technology, life skills and the arts. At 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, homeschoolers are invited for some fun fitness activities. Registration for the Air Base and Weapons Station is now underway for: Start Smart Basketball* (4 year olds) - $25 Basketball (5-10 year olds) - $40 Cheerleading (5-10 year olds) - $40 Registration forms and information is available at each youth center. *The Smart Start Basketball program for 4 year olds is a parent participation program. At least one parent/guardian must be on the court with their child during the practice sessions.
