“Nothing could be finer” inspired burger We have a burger that has so many Carolina-inspired ingredients that after you experience it, you’ll drift off into a burger nirvana humming the words to, “Nothing could be finer.” The patty is a wonderful combination of beef and pork gently graced with a secret Carolina sauce, American cheese, French-fried onions and tasty pepper bacon. All of this is nestled inside a fresh, toasted bun with a side order of fries for $8.50. The Carolina Belly Bacon Burger is a “burger lovers” burger. Available everyday we’re open!

Train ride offers stunning fall foliage vistas This Great Smoky Mountain train ride Oct. 24-25 will gently guide you along 44 miles of breathtaking fall scenery, rivers and gorges. Boat orientation class

Oct. 6 & 20 These one-hour orientation classes are required in order to checkout motor-driven ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5. Before attending class, boater must take a free on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation class.

Keystone Career Fair Day Oct. 13, 4:30-5:30 p.m. This career fair at the Weapons Station Youth Programs center will help kids ages 9-18 be able to answer the really annoying question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Hosted by the Keystone Conquerors, there will be seven different professionals sharing information about their work. Also, they will give details on educational requirements and suggest courses students should take to achieve their career goals. This is a free program. Call for more information.

Participants will learn about the “business of baby-sitting,” infant/child CPR, first aid and how to handle emergencies. Cost is $45 for Youth Programs members, $50 for all others. Commotion in Motion National Youth Science Day

Oct. 7, 2015- 4:30 p.m. Youth Program members will have the opportunity to put Newton’s three laws of motion to the test. Youth will learn about the laws of physics and how these laws affect their everyday lives. This one-hour program is being held at the Weapons Station Youth Center.

Fall festival and Trunk or Treat

Oct. 30, 6-8 p.m. Weapons Station, Locklear Park This is a great alternative to having your little ghosts and goblins wandering the streets trick-or-treating. Everyone is invited to decorate the trunk of a car or bed of their truck and use it like a front porch, offering local kids candy and treats. A prize will be awarded for the best “trunk.” This is a free event for trick-ortreaters and decorated vehicles. To make sure we have enough space, vehicle owners are asked to register by Oct. 23 at the Weapons Station Youth Center.
