Your Charleston Club hosts a “1st Thursday Family Night” for its Members every month. Because of the holidays, this month’s program has been shifted to Jan. 9. The fun starts at 5 p.m. Members are invited to bring the family for a pizza and spaghetti dinner. Members cost is $5.50 for adults and youth 12 years old and younger eat at no charge. No RSVP needed.

Whether you are an old salt to the local area or a newbee, ewbee, there’s a Lowcountry tradition that brings a smile to every face - the oyster roast. This is an event that brings a gathering of friends, food and steaming pots of oysters together for usually no special occasion except to slurp these bivalve mollusks, mingle with old buddies, make new ones, talk trash about someone else’s football team and have some fun. On Friday, Jan. 17 the s Redbank Club will host a roast from 4:30 to 8:30 8 30 p.m. The cost is $15 for this all-you-care-toall-you-care-toeat at affair. Not into int oysters? Join us on Saturday, Jan. 11 or Jan. 18, as we head to the THREAT Management Group gun shop and firing range for your rifle and/or pistol qualifications instructed by ex-Navy Seals and Marines! The cost is $150 for one qualification & $200 for both rifle instruc-and pistol. Both packages include hands-on instruc tion, weapons qualification, transportation, gun rental and ammunition. Our van will depart from the Bowman Center at 8 a.m. and will return by 7 p.m. Registrations are due the Wednesday prior to each trip at the Liberty Game Room.
