Jr. Members eat free Jan. 3 The Club hosts a “1st Thursday Family Night” for its Members every month. This month’s program is Jan. 3. The fun starts at 5 p.m. Members are invited to bring the family for a pizza and spaghetti dinner. Cost is only $5.50 for adults and youth 12 years old and younger eat at no charge. RSVP not required.

What’s for Lunch? We feature a deliciously different lunch every weekday in the main dining room. A sample of the buffets include barbecue on Wednesdays, Italian on Thursdays, along with a bountiful seafood buffet every Friday. Serving times are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Twilight Golf Special Golfers won’t want to miss out on the lowest greens fees around with Redbank’s twilight golf deals! We rent skis, boots, poles, ski bibs, Big Feet, Little Feet, snow blades and snowboards. Rent by the day, weekend or week. Gear can be reserved with a $20 deposit per set. Major credit cards accepted for rentals and deposits.

Cost: $179 per person includes transportation, one night’s lodging based on double occupancy, admission to Homosassa State Wildlife Park, snorkel equipment and swimming with the manatees. Space is limited on each of these trips and advance registration is required. Please call for more details.

Boat orientation classes Jan. 15 & 29, Feb. 12 & 26 This one-hour class is required in order to checkout ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5 per person. Before attending class, boaters must take free on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation class.

Archery Range open The Outdoor Recreation Center now has an archery range next to their building that is open to the public. There is no charge to use the range and reservations are not required. Call the ORC at 9631732 if more information is needed.

Learn to shoot skeet & trap Jan. 26 & Feb. 23 Two-hour lesson each date. Cost: $25 per lesson. Includes general information and weapons safety, along with the use of a shotgun, ammo and two rounds of shooting. Advance registration needed.

Combat Zone Paintball Enlist up to 10 warriors and enjoy our Combat Zone Paintball Experience for $195 per session. This price includes field use, gun, mask and CO² bottle for each player. Also included are 2,000 rounds for the group. Times available for weekdays and weekends. Call for more details.

We host rock climbing parties Cost is only $80 for up to 10 climbers for a two-hour session. All climbing gear along with a staff climbing technician is included in the price. Weekday and weekend times available. Climbing parties are permitted to bring food and refreshments to use in the party room.

Sapphire Valley Ski Resort Trip

January 19 Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Because it’s the thrill of a lifetime! Liberty takes you to Walterboro Airpark on Saturday, Jan. 19 for tandem skydiving! Registrations are due Monday, Jan. 14. The cost is $155 for a tandem jump which includes instruction and everything you’ll need to take the plunge. The van departs from the OAC parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Participants must be 18 years of age and can’t weigh more than 220 lbs.

Indoor Rock Climbing January 20

Liberty takes you on a fun-filled day of snow skiing or snowboarding in beautiful Sapphire, North Carolina. The trip will depart from the OAC parking lot at 5:30 a.m., Jan. 12 and will return by midnight the same day. The cost is $39 for skiing and $45.50 for snowboarding and includes transportation, lift ticket and all ski related equipment. Sign up at the Liberty Lounge by Jan. 8 to secure your spot. No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.

What’s up? Fun, fitness and friends at Inner Peaks Climbing Center, a 13,000 sq. ft. climbing terrain in Charlotte, N.C. designed to challenge any skill level! It’s a great place to stay fit and reduce stress and Liberty takes you there, Sunday, Jan. 20. The trip will depart from the OAC at 11 a.m. and will return by 9:30 p.m. The cost is only $19.50 per person, which includes transportation, admission and all climbing equipment needed to enjoy a funfilled day on the rocks.

Marksmanship Trip Ice Skating Trip January 18 Join us for an evening of fun on the ice as Liberty takes you to Carolina Ice Palace, Friday, Jan. 18. The trip will depart from the OAC parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and will return by 9:30 p.m. The cost is only $7 per person which includes transportation, entry fee and skates. Sign up at the Liberty Lounge in the Bowman Center.

January 26 Join Liberty, Saturday, Jan. 26 as we head to the local gun shop/firing range for your rifle and/or pistol qualifications. The cost is $75 for one qualification and $140 for both rifle and pistol. A $5 non-refundable deposit is required. The registration fee includes transportation, weapon qualification, ammunition, and range sheets. Our van will depart from the OAC parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Sign up by Jan. 23 at the Liberty Lounge.

Volunteer Service Recognition Ceremony

Youth Baseball/T-Ball Registration

Wednesday, Jan. 30, WS Youth Programs will publicly honor adult and youth volunteers who have participated in supporting our youth programs with a presentation of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. The ceremony will be held at the base theater, Cinema One from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Youth Baseball/T-Ball registration for boys and girls ages 4-14 begins Jan. 28 and runs through Mar. 1 at the JB Charleston-WS Youth Center. The registration fee is $30 for members, $40 for non-members, and $25 for 4 year olds. The season will run April-June. Before registering your child for any youth sport, at least one parent (or legal guardian) must have a valid certification from P.A.Y.S. (Parents Association for Youth Sports) program and the child must have a sports physical prior to participation. For more information, contact Youth Sports Coordinator, Robert Veronee at 764-4134.

SAT/ACT Workshop

The JB Charleston Youth Program’s Keystone Club will host a SAT/ACT Workshop for high school students looking to get help with the college entrance examination.
