Preface & Philosophy

The main idea of this book is to represent the personality and essence of Claudia Stephanie and also the client, who is a friend in Art and Design 2017. Her interests are in Occult, Semirealism drawing and other dark things. Ergo her favourite colors are based on dark color; black, dark grey, dark blue and etc. This was a Mid Term Project, the goal of this project is to capture her personalities through a brand identity. Her style is very boy-ish and cool for her surroundings. The overlaying on the logo shows how flexible she is, giving the cool vibe that she puts on her style in fashion. The curve in the letter “S� is to give that dark and how boy-ish she really is. To understand more

about Stephanie and her logo, it is important to acknowledge the value and rule of the logo. This guidelines help readers to use the logo correctly and consistent. Please remember to read and understand this guidlines clearly before using the logo and accsent of Stephanie. One of the main important of using this logo is accurate by adding Stephanie’s accent. The user of this book has to be creative and professional to use this logo and applying it to several applications. The purpose of this manual is to explain the idea behind Claudia Stephanie visual identity, to define her graphic standards are applied. It is very important to understand

the rules of the logo. User will find visual aspect that need to be fulfilled. Going forward, materials should incorporate the graphics as is practical. The main color used in this logo is white over black. The white over black is to show and taking over the mood from Claudia Stephanie it self, that is dark and boy-ish, it is not only because her personalities but because her drawings and artworks are showing shady, lonely and yet strong feeling. The line between “C” and “S” is to show the modern style from other interest than Meadieval interest in cursive pattern and the circle is to show how flexible and friendly she is when you get to know her. The original idea of the design was to use dark blue over light grey. However, to avoid tackiness and colors that are too vibrant in the application of the logo, dark blue was picked as the main logo.

Cloister Black & Garamond The logo uses two kinds of fonts which are Cloister Black and Garamond . This font represent Claudia Stephanie’s strong and boy-ish traits in herself as well as her flexibelity. Several fonts were previously chosen for the design of the logo, but so far this logo was the most suited one to represent her personalities and identity. Cloister Black typeface has a differerent shape to their lowcase letters, and they really stand out compared to many boy-ish yet cursive fonts. Similar to Cloister Black, Garamond has strong and yet elegant look and matching the two fonts are to balance between her boy-ish and elegant look and style. Therefore only these two fonts that has been chosen to determind her personalities to the logo it self.

It is very important to take notice to the logo size, as the logotype needs to be always readable and legible. The minimum size for the logo should be at the very least 1.5 centimeters times 1.5 centimeters to be exact. As for the maximum size on print is 3 centimeters times 3 centimeters. Yet for other applications there is no maximum size, yet it is need to be balance and works together with the application.

The safe area or the exclusion zone is established to createa “safe space� between the logo or other objects. The logo needs to always be a recognisable and not be distrated by other company logos, texts, or any object and design elements.
