tea with proper storage helps retain aroma, brightness and antioxidant goodness in our teas.

is not ‘just water’ because it can contain calcium 2. Water and minerals that spoil the taste of tea. Please use

spring water, or at least filtered water. Look for the ‘total dissolved solids’ or ‘TDS’ marked on every bottle of water the number should be 100-150 for a good cuppa.

3. When brewing tea for iced tea, tea

cocktails, a marinade or jus, brew for double the time to make a strong extract.

Must-Know Facts Based on Frequently Asked Questions How to Keep Tea Fresh

?

Re-boiling Water

Connoisseurs store their wines in climatecontrolled cellars and cigars in humidors. Tea is no different in requiring care in its storage. Tea is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture and similarly, odours or fragrance. Protect your tea in an airtight container, and keep it away from moisture, heat, light, and odours.

?

Re-boiling water is not recommended as it can deplete dissolved gases and concentrate nitrates, fluoride and other undesirable elements, and for tea that is especially bad as it hinders its natural taste. In a professional environment, use a samovar with a good thermostat to minimise re-boiling, while at home, use a kettle and fresh water every time.
