The Monte San Salvatore funicular from Paradiso takes you to the top of Switzerland’s Sugarloaf Mountain, with its 360° view of the region and the Alps. From here you walk to the quaint Carona in order to experience arts and typical local cuisine. A visit to Parco San Grato, the panoramic “Swing the World” and the playground is not to be missed.

Da qui si cammina fino al caratteristico villaggio di Carona, dove potrete fermarvi a gustare la tipica cucina nostrana. From Cassarate, take the Monte Brè funicular to the top of the mountain, where a short walk will take you to the village of Brè. Back in Cassarate, walk to Parco Ciani for a lakeside picnic while you wait for the boat to Melide. There you can visit Swissminiatur, an open-air museum depicting Switzerland in miniature.

From Lugano, take the boat to Gandria, a haven of tranquillity boasting narrow alleyways and marvellous glimpses over Lake Lugano. After lunch at one of the lakeside restaurants, return to Castagnola along the “Sentiero dell’olivo” (olive grove trail). During the summer months you can stop off at Lido San Domenico to take a dip in the lake or to relax.

Von Miglieglia aus erreicht man mit der Seilbahn den Gipfel des Monte Lema, eine Naturoase mit einem Blick, der die Region beherrscht und bis zu den Alpen und der Poebene reicht. Danach beginnt der Abstieg über die Via degli alpeggi zur Alpe di Cima Pianca, durch Buchenund Kastanienwälder und vorbei an dem charakteristischen “Museo del Boscaiolo”.

From Ponte Tresa you can reach the Sessa Gold Mine, located in one of the largest mining districts in Switzerland. After a visit, you will continue along the Sentiero delle Meraviglie (Path of Wonders), a circular route through an oasis of peace and greenery. Here you will pass the historic Maglio del Malcantone, where iron was worked in the 19th century.
Da Ponte Tresa potrete raggiungere la Miniera d’Oro di Sessa, situata in uno dei distretti minerari più grandi della Svizzera. Dopo una visita proseguirete lungo il Sentiero delle Meraviglie, un percorso circolare che attraversa un’oasi di pace e verde. Qui passerete per lo storico Maglio del Malcantone, dove nell’800 si lavorava il ferro.

An area characterised by a naturalistic treasure trove, where villages and tranquillity nestle amidst birch, beech and chestnut forests, as well as historical and cultural relics.

From Miglieglia you reach the summit of Monte Lema by cable car, a natural oasis with a view that dominates the region and stretches as far as the Alps and the Po Valley. From there you descend to the valley along “La via degli alpeggi” to the Alpe di Cima Pianca, through beech and chestnut forests and past the characteristic “Museo del Boscaiolo”.
