The region of Lugano hosts numerous events all year round, satisfying the widest range of preferences. The winter season is marked by performances and concerts that are held in various halls, while from spring to autumn the fun is mainly outdoors. During the summer concerts, music for all tastes, literature, entertainment, theatre, dance, movie, shows for children, urban art installations invade the streets, squares and public parks transforming the city into an intense meeting of artists, public, entertainment and culture seekers. In the evening Lugano offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, discos and clubs that are just waiting to be discovered.
La regione di Lugano ospita numerosi eventi durante tutto l’arco dell’anno che soddisfano un ampio spettro di gusti. La stagione invernale è caratterizzata da performances e concerti nei teatri e nelle sale del territorio, mentre dalla primavera all’autunno il divertimento è all’aperto. In estate le strade, le piazze e i parchi pubblici trasformano la città in un intenso luogo di scambio di artisti, di pubblico e di amanti della cultura. Il programma è sempre ricco di concerti, musica per tutti i gusti, letteratura, divertimento, teatri, danza, cinema spettacoli per bambini e installazioni di arte urbana. In der Region Lugano finden das ganze Jahr hindurch zahlreiche Veranstaltungen statt, die den unterschiedlichsten Geschmäckern gerecht werden. Die Wintersaison ist geprägt von Aufführungen und Konzerten in Theatern und Hallen des Territoriums, während von Frühling bis Herbst der Spass draussen ist. Im Sommer verwandeln die Strassen, Plätze und öffentlichen Parks die Stadt in einen Ort des intensiven Austauschs für Künstler, Publikum und Kulturliebhaber. Das Programm ist immer reich an Konzerten, Musik für jeden Geschmack, Literatur, Unterhaltung, Theater, Tanz, Kinovorführungen für Kinder und urbanen Kunstinstallationen. Am Abend bietet Lugano eine grosse Auswahl an Restaurants, Bars, Discos und Clubs.

La saison d’hiver est marquée par des spectacles et des concerts dans les théâtres et les salles de la région, tandis que du printemps à l’automne, les manifestations sont plutôt à ciel ouvert. En été, les rues, les places et les parcs publics transforment la ville en un lieu d’échange intense pour les artistes, le public et les amoureux de la culture. Throughout the year, there are numerous celebrations and festivals all over the region. In summer, the arts come together in some unexpected places: on the Lugano Lakeside, in courtyards, in urban places, in parks and gardens temporarily transformed for a concert or a performance.
Durante tutto l’arco dell’anno la regione ospita numerose feste e festival dedicati agli amanti della musica. In estate, le note musicali sono ospitate in affascinanti e inusuali locations: sul lungolago, nelle corti antiche, nelle piazze cittadine, nei parchi e nei giardini trasformati per l’occasione in veri e proprie arene per concerti.

Das ganze Jahr hindurch werden in der ganzen Region zahlreiche Festivals und Konzerte organisiert. Im Sommer beleben musikalische Ereignisse Plätze, Parks, Seeufer und viele andere unerwartete und aussergewöhnliche Orte.
Toute l’année, fêtes et festivals se multiplient dans toute la région. Aux beaux jours, les arts se mélangent, échangent et investissent les lieux les plus insolites: bords du lac, cours, places, parcs et jardins transformés en véritable salle ou arène le temps d’un concert ou d’un récital.

A heady cocktail mixing jazz, in all its various flavours, combining blues, pop, soul, rock and world music, for a unique event in Europe. The spectacular comprises a series of free open air concerts, offering the thousands of fans filling squares of Lugano the chance to admire the performances of hugely renowned international artists. Along with its jazz origins, a tapestry of many other sounds, featuring musicians from many different countries, have all contributed in genuinely adding to the reputation and renown of the event.
Un cocktail di jazz nelle sue numerose tonalità, unito a blues, pop, soul funk, rock e world music, per una manifestazione unica in Europa nel suo genere. Una serie di concerti open-air gratuiti, offerti alle migliaia di appassionati che gremiscono le piazze di Lugano, per ammirare le performances di grandi artisti di fama mondiale. Al jazz, sono state affiancate proposte musicali, con interpreti provenienti da moltissimi paesi, che hanno contribuito ad aumentare prestigio e fama della kermesse luganese.

Blues To Bop Festival is always the event of the end of the summer to tease fans of blues, jazz and gospel, with original offerings, in a crossroad of genres between tradition and new tendences. Every night, three stages in four different squares in Lugano will host around fifty musicians in more than forty concerts; the audience can simply choose, at any moment, among the different options all within easy reach. From blues to pop, this event is not only unique in its kind in Europe, but in addition it’s free.
Il festival Blues To Bop di Lugano si riconferma quale evento di fine estate, capace di stuzzicare i palati degli appassionati di blues, jazz e gospel, con proposte originali in un crocevia di stili fra tradizione e nuove tendenze. Ogni sera, tre palchi in altrettante piazze di Lugano ospitano una cinquantina di musicisti per oltre quaranta concerti, con la possibilità per il pubblico di scegliere in ogni momento tra diverse proposte musicali. Jeden Abend präsentieren sich auf drei Bühnen und ebenso vielen Plätzen rund 50 Musiker in über 40 Konzerten. A musical season dedicated primarily to classical music but open to other art forms as well. The programme features the world’s leading symphony orchestras performing repertoires intended for large orchestras and hence with very wide expressive ranges. LuganoMusica events are held throughout the year and organised into various cycles including recitals, chamber music concerts and a cycle dedicated to the new generation of performers and various forms of contemporary music.
Stagione musicale dedicata principalmente alla musica classica e aperta ad altre forme artistiche. Ospita le più importanti orchestre sinfoniche del mondo a esibirsi in repertori votati al più ampio organico orchestrale, e quindi alla più ampia varietà espressiva. Il programma esteso sull’arco di un anno e articolato in vari cicli, presenta inoltre récital, concerti di musica da camera, un ciclo dedicato alla nuova generazione d’interpreti e diverse musiche contemporanee.

Die Konzertsaison widmet sich vorwiegend der klassischen Musik, steht aber auch anderen Kunstformen offen. Die bedeutendsten Sinfonieorchester der Welt treten hier auf, deren Repertoire für grosse Orchesterbesetzungen geschrieben wurde und somit eine umfassende Ausdrucksvielfalt mit sich bringt. Das ganzjährige Programm ist in mehrere Zyklen aufgeteilt und bietet auch Rezitals, Kammermusikkonzerte, eine Bühne für junge angehende Musiker sowie für zeitgenössische Musik.

OSI ORCHESTRA DELLA SVIZZERA ITALIANA

Within the international landscape, OSI has been able to carve itself out a reputation as one of Europe’s leading orchestras. Under its principal conductor, Markus Poschner, OSI brings great pleasure to audiences and expert critics alike. OSI is one of the 14 professional orchestras in Switzerland and its performances are divided between regional concert seasons, local initiatives and other concerts throughout Switzerland and abroad. The orchestra has successfully partnered with some of the world’s most renowned conductors and soloists. Since 2015 it has been LAC’s resident orchestra.
Nel panorama internazionale l’OSI ha saputo qualificarsi come orchestra di punta a livello europeo. Con il suo direttore principale Markus Poschner ha infiammato il pubblico e la critica più autorevole. È una delle 14 formazioni professionali in Svizzera; divide la sua attività tra stagioni concertistiche regionali, iniziative per la popolazione, collaborazioni e concerti in trasferta nel resto della Svizzera e all’estero. Collabora con i grandi nomi del panorama direttoriale e con i più celebri solisti. Dal 2015 è l’Orchestra residente del LAC.

Das Orchester der Italienischen Schweiz OSI konnte sich im internationalen Rahmen als europäisches Orchester einen Namen machen. Mit seinem Hauptdirigenten Markus Poschner hat es beim Publikum und bei der einschlägigen Presse gleichermassen Begeisterung ausgelöst. Als eines der 14 Berufsorchester der Schweiz besteht seine Tätigkeit in regionalen Konzertreihen, Initiativen für die Bevölkerung, gemeinsamen Auftritten sowie Konzerten in der Schweiz und im Ausland. Es arbeitet mit bekannten Dirigenten und berühmten Solisten zusammen. Seit 2015 hat das Orchester seinen Sitz im LAC.
Dans le panorama international, l’OSI a su se faire reconnaitre au niveau européen comme un orchestre de très haute qualité. Avec son directeur principal Markus Poschner, cette formation a su enchanter le public et la critique la plus influente. C’est un des 14 orchestres professionnels de Suisse. Ses activités se divisent entre saisons de concerts régionales, initiatives pour la population, collaborations et concerts dans les autres régions de Suisse et à l’étranger. From hip hop to tango and from contemporary dance to African, everyone is free to choose their own programme. And everyone can go along and discover the talent of famous choreographers and young performers alike, try out some dance steps, watch dances from all over the world, take part in some great parties, find out about the activities of a host of local dance schools, get caught up in unexpected flash mobs and experience innovative projects devised especially for the occasion.
Dall’hip hop al tango, dalla danza contemporanea a quella africana, ognuno è libero di scegliere il proprio programma. Tutti potranno scoprire il talento di noti coreografi o di giovani artisti, cimentarsi in passi di ballo, assistere a delle danze del mondo, partecipare a divertenti party, conoscere l’attività di molte scuole di danza del territorio, farsi sorprendere da flash mob, vivere progetti innovativi creati ad hoc per quest’occasione.

Vom Hip-Hop zum Tango, von zeitgenössischem Tanz zu afrikanischen Volkstänzen kann sich jede und jeder aus dem breiten Angebot ein eigenes Programm zusammenstellen. Auf der Bühne kann das Talent bekannter Choreografinnen und Choreografen und von jungen Tanzschaffenden bewundert werden, man kann selbst einige Tanzschritte wagen, sich auf Partys amüsieren, die Aktivitäten der zahlreichen Tanzschulen der Region kennenlernen, sich von Flash-Mobs überraschen lassen und innovative Projekte erleben, die ad hoc für diesen Anlass geschaffen wurden.

Among the great European festivals, the FIT Festival Internazionale del Teatro e della scena contemporanea welcomes the big names of the international scene, with a particular attention to the contemporary one. Ten days of theater, performance, dance, devoted to innovation and hybridization of languages, artistic and design modalities outside of customs and conventions. Many side events and, among these, the appreciated “Conversations”, meetings after show with the artists, to bring a wider and more transversal audience.

LuganoInScena offers a programme which runs the gamut from prose theatre to contemporary theatre, from national and international dance spectacles to musical programme and successful musical; it has played host to leading figures from the world of theatre and works closely with local artists. The range of performances on offer is addressed to as vast audience as possibile, combining experimentation and tradition. From 2015 LAC Arts Centre allows LuganoInScena to produce and coproduction prose and dance spectacles, that after tour to other Theatre.

Pride 2018 Lugano is the first ever LGBT Pride in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Since it is also Switzerland’s nation-wide Pride, the weeklong program will be particularly rich! From May 28th until June 3rd, we offer a full array of cultural and musical events, meetings, cocktail parties, sports activities, and options to explore the beautiful surrounding region of Ticino. Our goal is to provide an open and joyful atmosphere that engages the whole local community, together with national and international visitors, in a peaceful and constructive dialogue about LGBT topics.
Il Pride 2018 - Lugano, è il primo LGBT pride mai organizzato nella Svizzera italiana ed è altresì quello nazionale: c’è quindi in programma molto di più. Dal 28 maggio al 3 giugno nella città sul Ceresio si succederanno infatti eventi culturali e musicali, incontri, aperitivi, un grande party e persino delle attività sportive e di scoperta della regione. Starting from April, the city and its district will be the stage of several initiatives focused on food, culture, art, music, photography and much more besides. The event will culminate with the Week of Taste, that will take place from September 13th to September 23rd, a special occasion during which gourmets and gourmands could enjoy the Village of Taste. Every proposal and activity will highlight the importance of taste and good nutrition in their own culinary, cultural, didactic, tourism and sport related multiple facets.

In order to add some zest to the picturesque city center, the City of Lugano and the Ente Turistico del Luganese have organized an event called “Pasqua in Città” (Easter in Town), which will take place from Friday through Monday.

Christmas in Lugano starts with the lighting of the tree in Riforma Square. From that moment, the heart of the city becomes a bright village, bestowing opportunities for entertainment, musical performances, a market and surprises until the Epiphany. From 22 November, the City will be transformed with Christmas lights, sounds and colours. The most beautiful festival of the year is celebrated with a children’s village, concerts, entertainment, the New Year’s Eve open-air party and many other events that will fill the city with the magic of Christmas up until 6 January.

Das schönste Fest des Jahres wird mit einem Dorf für Kinder, Animation, einem grossen Silvesterfest und vielen anderen Events gefeiert, die das Stadtmitte bis zum 6. Januar mit Weihnachtszauber erfüllen.

The 6th edition of TAMARO TROPHY will in fact take place on April 7th-8th 2018 on the slopes of Mount Ceneri. Tamaro Trophy will open the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup racing circuit and, above all, the Swiss season of MTB. The programme is very rich and varied, ranging from races reserved only to the world’s top élite all the way to youth categories. In the next edition a prominent role will also be played by the Mini Tamaro Trophy, a special moment of solidarity, in which children will pedal to help other less fortunate children.
La 6a edizione del TAMARO TROPHY andrà infatti in scena il 7-8 aprile 2018 sulle pendici del Monte Ceneri. Il Tamaro Trophy aprirà il circuito della Proffix Swiss Bike Cup e soprattutto la stagione elvetica della MTB. Il programma è ricco e variato e prevede gare riservate sia all’élite mondiale sia alle categorie giovanili. Uno spazio importante lo rivestirà anche nella prossima edizione il Mini Tamaro Trophy, uno momento particolare riservato alla solidarietà, dove i bambini pedaleranno per aiutare altri bambini meno fortunati.

Das reichhaltige Programm enthält Rennen sowohl für Spitzensportler als auch für Junioren. Die Mini Tamaro Trophy nimmt auch dieses Jahr einen wichtigen Platz ein. Ein spezieller Moment der Veranstaltung, in dem Kinder im Zeichen der Solidarität für kranke Kinder in die Pedalen treten.

Scenic Trail is a trail running competition that involves an area of 170 square Km, touching 8 municipalities: Alto Malcantone, Bedano, Capriasca, Isone Lugano, Mezzovico-Vira, Monte Ceneri and Torricella Taverne, in Southern Switzerland. Born in 2013 it does see the first edition on a 50 Km distance and 3800 m in altitude along a path that runs on the ridges of the region, offering a breathtaking view (from here the term “Scenic”). In 2015 and in 2016 Scenic Trail has been awarded as best Swiss Ultra Trail competition in Switzerland.
Scenic Trail è una competizione di Trail Running che coinvolge un’area di 170Km quadrati toccando 8 comuni: Alto Malcantone, Bedano, Capriasca, Isone, Lugano, Mezzovico-Vira, Monte Ceneri e Torricella Taverne, in Canton Ticino. This is an “International” women’s tournament, WTA’s third-highest category. The tournament will take up a key position at the beginning of Switzerland’s sporting year. We look forward to welcoming the top women from Switzerland and Italy as well as other international female star players.
Nella splendida cornice del TC Lido, in posizione panoramica direttamente sulla riva del lago, le signore del tennis potranno esibirsi per guadagnare preziosi punti per il ranking mondiale e puntare a un premio minimo di 250’000 dollari. Il torneo femminile, essendo “International”, fa parte della terza categoria della WTA in ordine di importanza. Il torneo riveste un ruolo fondamentale per gli inizi della stagione sportiva svizzera. Avremo modo di ammirare sul campo le migliori tenniste svizzere e italiane, oltre naturalmente a numerose atlete di punta di diversi Paesi.

En tant qu’« international », le tournoi dames appartient à la troisième catégorie du WTA. Le tournoi occupe une position importante au début de l’année sportive suisse. For a long time Via Nassa has become the stage of important and glamorous events, which alternate periodically on this marvelous street of Lugano, which has always been famous for offering the most exclusive shopping opportunities. Thanks to a rich program of collateral activities, Autonassa has changed over the years from a simple car parking to one of the most important open air car exhibitions of cars of whole Switzerland, insomuch as being included in the official events calendar of the city of Lugano.
