The area surrounding the city of Lugano, with its hills and mountains, is a true hiking paradise. More than 900 kilometres of official hiking trails criss-cross the region, flanked by several theme trails and a number of scenic mountains. The various villages surrounding the city are also waiting to be discovered.
The heterogeneity of the different trails, which run along paths for the most diverse levels and in different landscape settings, represent a unique territory for walking and being in close contact with nature. At the same time, the cultural heritage, the typical features of the territory and the traditional peculiarities enrich the experience of living the Lugano region in the gentlest way: on foot and immersed in luxuriant nature.
