The outdoor artistic works in Brè, realised by the Circolo Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn”, presents the village where the artists Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn” (1885-1934), Luigi Taddei (1898-1992), Wilhelm Schmid (18921971), Jósef Biró (1887-1975) lived. The tour shows works by artists noted in Switzerland and in other countries.
L’arredo artistico di Brè, promosso dal Circolo Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn”, presenta il bel villaggio dove vissero gli artisti Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn” (1885-1934), Luigi Taddei (1898-1992), Wilhelm Schmid (18921971), Jósef Biró (1887-1975). Il percorso mostra le opere di artiste/i noti a livello nazionale e internazionale.

Der “Weg der Kunst” in Brè, realisiert vom Circolo Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn”, stellt das Dorf vor, in dem die Künstler Pasquale Gilardi “Lelèn” (1885-1934), Luigi Taddei (1898-1992), Wilhelm Schmid (18921971), Jósef Biró (1887-1975) lebten. Located in the centre of the village, in the house where the painter from Aargau Wilhelm Schmid lived since 1943, the Museum is dedicated to the work of the artist, an exponent of the German New Objectivity of the 20’s. The collection documents the important stages of his artistic development.
Situato nel nucleo di Brè, nella casa in cui visse l’artista, il Museo è dedicato all’opera del pittore argoviese Wilhelm Schmid, trasferitosi in Ticino nel 1943, esponente del movimento tedesco Nuova Oggettività, sorto negli anni Venti. Il percorso espositivo documenta i momenti principali della sua evoluzione artistica.

Im Dorfkern, im ehemaligen Haus des Aargauer Künstlers Wilhelm Schmid, in welchem er seit 1943 lebte, befindet sich das ihm gewidmete Museum. Die Sammlung zeigt die wichtigsten Phasen der künstlerischen Entwicklung des Malers, der ein Vertreter der deutschen Neuen Sachlichkeit der 20er Jahre war.
Au coeur du village, dans l’ancienne maison de l’artiste argovien, se trouve le Musée dédié à l’œuvre de Wilhelm Schmid. Représentant de la Nouvelle Objectivité allemande dans les années vingt, le peintre s’est transféré au Tessin en 1943. Le musée retrace les phases les plus importantes de son évolution artistique.
In addition to the artistic sights described above, one may admire in Brè other noteworthy works of art. In 1948 the Hungarian painter József Biró (1887-1975) painted in fresco virtually the entire parish church. The oil paintings of the Way of the Cross (Via Crucis) are also by the same hand. Inside there are two Seicento frescoes (Sant’ Antonio Abate and San Carlo Borromeo) and two Settecento frescoes (The martyrs San Fedele and San Simone), whilst on the façade and on a wall of same building are frescoes by artist Luigi Taddei (1898-1992). In the cemetery among several other works, particularly fine is the bas-relief ”La Dea della pace“ (The Goddess of Peace) - a marble sculpture by Pasquale Gilardi ”Lelèn“ (1885-1934).
Oltre all’arredo artistico descritto, a Brè si possono ammirare altre opere d’arte degne di nota. Nel 1948 il pittore ungherese József Biró (1887-1975) ha affrescato quasi integralmente la Chiesa parrocchiale dei Santi Fedele e Simone. Dello stesso autore sono le tele a olio della Via Crucis. Inoltre all’interno sono custoditi due affreschi del Seicento (Sant’Antonio Abate e San Carlo Borromeo) e due altri del Settecento (San Fedele e San Simone martiri), mentre sulla facciata e su una parete esterna della chiesa si trovano opere affrescate dall’artista Luigi Taddei (1898-1992). Nel cimitero, tra altre sue opere, è in bella mostra il basso rilievo ”La Dea della pace“, scultura in marmo di Pasquale Gilardi ”Lelèn“ (1885-1934).

En plus du décor artistique décrit ci-dessus, à Brè on peut admirer d’autres oeuvres d’art dignes d’être remarquées. En 1948, le peintre hongrois József Biró (1887-1975) a peint à fresque presque intégralement l’église paroissiale. Du même auteur sont aussi les toiles à huile de la Via Crucis. À l’intérieur on y garde par ailleurs deux fresques du 17 e siècle (Sant’ Antonio Abate et San Carlo Borromeo) et deux œuvres du 18e siècle (San Fedele et San Simone martyres) tandis que sur la façade et sur une parois du même bâtiment se trouvent des fresques de l’artiste Luigi Taddei (1898-1992). Au cimetière, parmis maintes de ses oeuvres, est surtout en belle évidence le basrelief ”La Dea de la pace“ (La Déesse de la paix), sculpture en marbre de Pasquale Gilardi ”Lelèn“ (1885-1934).

Neben der künstlerischen Ausgestaltung des Dorfkerns sind für den Besucher und die Besucherin weitere Kunstwerke bemerkenswert. So wurde die Pfarrkirche der Heiligen Fedele und Simone im Jahre 1948 mit Fresken des ungarischen Künstlers József Biró (1887-1975) ausgeschmückt, von dem auch die Ölbilder der Via Crucis stammen. Im Innern der Kirche befinden sich zwei Gemälde aus dem 17. Jahrhundert (Sant’ Antonio Abate und San Carlo Borromeo) und zwei weitere aus dem 18. Jahrhundert (San Fedele und San Simone Märtyrer). Auf der Aussenseite und einer Seitenwand finden sich ausserdem Fresken des Künstlers Luigi Taddei (18981992). Im Friedhof ist, neben anderen Werken, das Basrelief aus Marmor ”La Dea della pace“ (Die Friedensgöttin) des einheimischen Künstlers Pasquale Gilardi ”Lelèn“ (1885-1934) schon von weitem sichtbar und zu bewundern.
